Godr-Ayed Weapon quest - not worth it???

Can someone explain why they would run around like an idiot in a quest for the privilege of converting their 18 billion TET Blackstar for a 14 billion Godr-Ayed? If they want a Godr-Ayed, they could sell their Blackstar for 18 bill and BUY a Godr-Ayed DUO for the same price.

Just checking if I'm missing something?

You get them for extra boost in AP since getting Ap after a certain bracket becomes difficult

Right, but the quest 'reward' is negative 4 billion. If someone wants the Godr-Ayed AP just sell your Blackstar TET for 18 Billion in the market and buy a Godr-Ayed Duo for about the same saving the quest BS and 4 billion.

Is it worth taking godr Aye to PEN? Absolutely not. If your goal is PEN, it's better to enhance directly from TET blackstr to PEN blackstar.

This said, if you do NOT plan to go for PEN blackstar, Godr Aye taken to DUO is absolutely worth it.

You can enhance Godr Aye to DUO without needing cron stones, so you get a few more AP or DP with no risk other than time grinding at Saunil Camp Elvia and memory fragments to repair durability.

This said, the further beyond DUO you go on Godr Aye the less economical it becomes.

p.s. I'd never sell my blackstar gear. I make the BS or GA to use, not to sell :) Sometimes I buy PRI blackstar to enhance to TET myself, but more than around 2 billion is too expensive regardless of enhancement level. Numbers like 14 billion or 18 billion are meaningless to me. I'd never spend that on what I can make for free or for 2 billion.

Godr-Ayed? It's a trap. The only thing that make sense is to keep bs tet for hammers and cron pen and buy godr-ayed plus enchant to duo if you want few more ap because as someone rightly pointed out: later getting more ap points is horribly expensive.

invest in 1 tet blackstar main weapon, then make a godr but don't sacrifice that tet blackstar. i know a lot of silver but it is worth it, u don't want to gimp urself back to stone age. TT_TT

FYI, this is what I did. my main character was stuck with only TET blackstar offhand and main (she's got PEN BS awakening already), but the number of crons needed to PEN is so much I realized it would be years before I ever PEN the remaining BS weapons.

So I made an additional TET blackstar offhand for an alt and made my main character's DUO Godr Aye. And I did the same for the main hand.

So now when I get jhammers I try to enhance the pure blackstar TET's on my alts. If they ever succeed, I'll use weapon exchange coupons to swap them. In the meantime my main character gets a few more AP and DP, and my alts get nice blackstar weapons.

I agree you need to have one unaltered TET blackstar on your account for Jhammers, but for those above who suggested they should use TET blackstar weapons on their main characters, I do disagree with that. That would be handicapping one's self on the hope that a 5% upgrade shot once or twice a year will hit.
