Caphra Grinding
I've had many in game conversations with people who grind end game gear which includes spending months for hours a day grinding caphras. However, these people make 60 to 70 caphras an hour, but no matter how hard I try I can't make more than 20 to 30 caphras an hour.

My friends who make 60+ caphras an hour also have 300+ AP and 401+ DP, with Kutm while I have 274/285/378 AP?AW/DP (Blackstar).

While he was grinding his 200 caphras a day one friend told me he was doing the daily quests at Jade Forest, Thornwood and some other places. He also said he only uses level 2 loot scrolls and his ecology buffs and no other loot drop bonuses (no tent buffs or church buffs or the like).

But when I do the daily quests at Thornwood, for instance, I get 25 caphras an hour, sometimes with luck 30. And my gear score isn't high enough yet to grind places like Jade Forest for caphras.

It seems like to make your own gear instead of buying it on the market you need to already have end game gear, and I more than a little hate that design.

We shouldn't have to grind hundreds of millions of silver to buy high end armor and accessories to be able to grind areas where we can make high end armor and weapons.

Examples of the caphras I need to grind to upgrade from almost end game to end game armor and weapons are:

TET Blackstar gloves to PEN C20 Boss Gloves: 21,744 Caphras
TET Blackstar main weapon tp PEN C20 Boss: 29,403 Caphras
TET Blackstar shield to PEN C20 Kutum Shield: 29,403 Caphras

But to grind all those caphras at 25 an hour instead of 60 an hour just doesn't make sense.

Upper gyfins gives well over 50 caphras an hour if you have a group at your gearscore. Also places like Thornwood are a bit overhyped and annoying to min-max, but if you do you can get well over 50 caphras there, players can and have exceeded 130 there. Turos is another massive caphras spot that will average over 50, Jade can average over 80 on a 281 character, and not much less at your score. Do not C20 the kutum until you have a pen blackstar mainhand, it's that much further in the game for you. C20 boots is the only slot left for c20 other than weapons these days because of the new region coming out with another God glove. To answer the question directly, how you get over 60 caphras is by not playing awakening guardian. It's a sub-par grinding class in the current patch compared to zerker woosa maegu succ ninja succ (And awk) hash, sorc, dk and even tamer outperform it. Many more do as well but getting into specifics would be unneeded. TLDR: Want better numbers, don't play awk guardian, it's not that good anymore. Succ however, is rising in the ranks as an astonishingly good PVE class since its buffs, give her a shot.

*Smiles* That's the second time you told me not to play awakening guardian *Laughs* So I'll tell you now I despise succession guardian. I absolutely hate the playstyle. hate it hate it hate it hate it haha.

I play Awakening Guardian as my main (and awakening witch as secondary ain) because they have my favorite play styles in BDO :) This is a game, and if it's not fun I simply won't play it.

I also don't enjoy playing in gorups, especially groups of five, because I can't see what people say and because I easily get lost tryig to follow other people (I'm extremely visually impaired). So for me I have to stick to solo content for griding.

As for boots, I mkade some PEN blackstar boots (and PEN blacktar jordun) for yself so far, so I'll save replacing the boots with C20 as last in order of replacements as that would only give 3 more DP :)

This said, I'll take your suggestion and give turos another shot tomorrow. If that pans out I'll take the garmoth heart grind quest while I'm at it to get a free third heart. Thanks :)

Yeah I know I know, you should always play the class you want in bdo. You just inquired as to why your caphras results are sub-par and the answer lies a bit in guardian, you, and your gear/artifacts and crystals. Mostly the last two, but awk guard is kinda in a sad spot atm, but don't stop playing something you find fun, just tryna shed light on it. But as a player that gets 30k+ trash at jade with blue agris, I wanted to opine on the matter from a giga grinder's prospective to help. It sucks that some classes grind better, but they do *shrug.*

I appreciate both your comments and your perspective. If I try Turos with both awakened guardian and awakeed witch and can't get even 50 caphras an hour with my gear score (my characters are tagged so share the gear), then I'll write it off as a weakness in my classes and will be grateful for your explanations :)

On a class-related note, the reason I tagged an awakened witch with my guardian is not only tha I like her play style (I love it), but she's capable of fighting in areas where my guardian gets beaten up badly. The witch almost never gets hit by monsters the way I play her, so if Turos doesn't pan out for e I'll try Jade Forest and Gyfin Upper level with my witch as additional places to try. Thanks again :)

Its a combination of knowledge buff, node, item drop rate, class speed and most importantly rng

Hi this is to give an updates on my tests with regard to Drandok's assertion that:

a) my Awakened Guardian simply won't get the kill speed more optimized classes can get in PVM, and

b) that I try Turos and Lower Gyfin temple for areas that have better caphra drop rates per hour.

Without doubt I believe Drandok's assertion that Awakened Guardian is a slower killer.

Last night I went to Turos with my 274/285/378 AP/AW//DP awakened guardian. I was fighting for around twenty minutes and was getting ready to give up because I recognized my kill speed there was simply too slow, but a kind player saw me there and talked for a while with me. He offered to party with me to help me finish the daily quest (kill 250 turos), and the two of us together knocked off the remainder. He was on a 64th level DK with a PVM build which had 295 AP (he said he has a PVP build with 315 DP but wasn't using that).

I noticed he was annihilating the turos way faster than me, and he explained that he got bored with Turos long ago and mostly does lower gyfin temple when he solos. He said he gets 100+ caphras an hour with 295 AP on his DK.

He made that place sound great and emphasized that understanding the mechanics is better than having a high enough gear score there.

I knew my Guardian isn't strong enough to do lower gyfin temple yet, but my Awakened Witch (274/285/376) is much better at surviving where my guardian can't. So I took my witch down to the marni private realm there and tested her. I used no tent or church buffs and just used a beast potion a blessed perilla star and a Khalik's Elixir as buffs.

And that place is so friggin' fun. I thought I'd have to run for m y life right away, but my witch did absolutely fine. It was frenetic and hectic and the most fun I've had in BDO in ore than half a year. I loved it!

At the end of around an hour there I noted I only made around 20 caphras (though I did not take the daily quests as I did not expect to survive). That's far less than the 100+ an hour my new friend makes, but honestly I didn't mind because it was just so fun. I also made around 200 million trash loot (only part of the time with agris) and two tungrad necklaces.

My new goals, following the experience at lower gyfin temple, are to get my DP higher first, and then I'll try to eek out some more AP.

My witch didn't use an infinite potion there and used up almost 200 extra large health potions, so I think i'll also work on getting her a full 275 hp infinite health potion (my guardian has one, but they're too hard to swap between characters).

In summary, I concede that my two main classes, Awakened Guardian and Awakened Witch, don't grind as fast as many other classes. But they're fun, and that Gyfin Temple breathed new life into BDO for me.

Post Script: I just had a conversation with a friend of mine whose main is Guardian and whos AP is 295 (same AP as the DK I met yesterday). My Guardian friend confirms lower gyfin temple is his favorite place to grind, and he makes around 50 caphras an hour there with his Guardian (half the caphras my DK friend makes of same AP). This is further corroboration for the assertion that guardians are slower grinders. But my Guardia friend also confirmed he loves it and that place, so as ths is a game, i'll be happy when I get to enough AP to get 50 an hour like my Guardian friend gets.

It all comes down to your Item Drop Rate, Node Investment Benefit, Argis Fever, how fast you can dispatch enemies and simple alchemy on materials commonly dropped; Ancient Spirit Dust + Black Stones (Armor/Weapon). I used to get over 150+ Caphras just from gathering by the way within about an hour. All I had to do was shaking the materials together and I was swimming in Caphras or silvers within a week. Do not forget to play that Black Spirit's Adventure game and use those cards that can help you drop exactly on the right spot for those Caphras bundle bags.

I was going to say, you can always buy some from the Market but... HOLY COW!! What the heck happened here? Not a single one in stock... :spazdunno: I came back after like... 200 days of inactivity. lol

The new region is introducing god gloves (Like labreska and fallen God), which require c10 gloves to acquire

Soooo... you are saying people are going ham on them, huh? I have like 20,000+ Caphras sitting in a storage somewhere. If only we could see every storage contents without having to go to a storage and expend every darn tabs... :ritonaworried: Some sort of all-in-one window that let me hover the item and tell me exactly where it is...
