So, last time I played, I could buy a compass from some witch character in most large towns. What happened? Have they gone?

The desert is fine but the ocean is a real pain. Not having a compass is not really an option. I always felt that a compass that only lasts three days is just highly unrealistic. There should be a way to get longer lasting compasses with quests that are at sea.

There is a permanent compass... but that one is considered a treasure and it's hard to get :)

and you can buy them for crow coins
(and you do not have to barter for crow coins...just kill pirates)

Also on market place you can buy "Part of Explorer's compass" x3 and merge them into a compass they cost 339 000 each so a compass would be 1017 000 silver and will last for 180 minutes

If you're going to be out in the ocean, it is always good to have at least 1 Traveler’s Map or Archaeologist’s Map on you. 😊
