[Imoogi] Black Shrine LoML (Newbie)

I am a new player, just started in LoML with my first character.
(I am now aware this was a terrible mistake, but I have completed 1k+ quests now and am in too deep to stop. Just want to finish this nonsense and get to the actual game.)
I am level 56 and still in my starting gear
I have completed all the tales up to [Imoogi]

The few combats I have had thus far have been trivially easy. Now it says I need to defeat sangoon and get the essence of the tiger for a quest. Issue- suddenly I can barely damage this guy, and after a certain amount of time I just instantly die.

I can't progress the main quest. Please help.

As a berserker, stomp the boss when it goes behind you

Make sure you read your skills and look for "Invincible against Monsters" I think it was.
Example; Evasion (where your character rolls) can be spammed to avoid hits.

One of the weirdest things PA has done is have irrelevant skills are viable in PvE bosses that most people LOCK lol
