Adding stacks together could never be as linear as 50+20=70. It would have to be something like 20+20=30, 50+20=55, 100+20=102.
I don't think either one of these ideas will see the light of day.
70 + 70 = 140
150 + 150 = 300
and so on etc....
But maybe add an additional cost to it, like Black Stones, or Hards and Sharps, or something else.
It would make the high end gear much more attainable when you can build infinite high failstacks.
It would have to be something like 4X 50fs = 100fs, 4X 100fs = 150fs. 4X 150fs = 200 fs. So to get a 200fs, you would need 64 of the 50fs.
Anything else and it would really cheapen the end game gear and subsiquintly everything else. If people can easily overstack and get their PEN, then they won't be failing and buying materials off of the market. There is no need to grind and since that is kind of the foundation of the game, they will resort to doing other nefarious things like PKing people as they AFK travel between Heidel and Velia.
