Is it worth for a returning player?

Last time I played was when battle royal got added as a gamemode (2018 or 2019 idk). My account is deleted (why lmao) so I have to start from scratch. I wanted to know if it's worth starting anew and coming back because my last memories of this game is being clinically depressed grinding 24/7 or putting the game on my tray for 24 hours straight. it traumatised me.

I also wanted to know about the new graphics or whatever update. can people with potato pcs play this game? I remember my irl saying she couldnt so im lowkey worried i install it with my ♥♥♥♥ internet for no reason.

tbh id rather go back to ff14 but im a cheapskate and dont want to pay every month lol

The game was transfered so they sent email for a while. PA added season which makes it easier to catch up in teem of gear. The game doesnt need to be on 24/7 there are many ways to make active silver. You need to set goals, long or short to reach goal

You aint running bdo on remaster with potato. The game can work with potato pc given you use the correct graphics and a optimization guide

for the most part any progress you had made when you last played can be achieved in about a week's time now. run a season character and go from there, it will speedrun you to level 61 and around 230ap i think. you just might have to hustle a little if you want to finish the season's progression track, since the season only has like 20 or so days left in it. what's your pc specs? i run ultra specs at 60 frames almost all the time, with a gtx 1080, 16g ram, and an i7-8700k - so you don't have to have a super beefy pc but something even mildly powerful by today's standards will do just fine. keep in mind that ultra/remastered mode is totally optional too so honestly you can probably run this on like.. some super old ♥♥♥♥ like a gtx 7 series card if your pc is really that low spec

There are a few weeks left in this season. Depending on your available time to play, you should be able to hit level 61 and all the freebies with seasons. Otherwise, they will probably be another season in either the end of September or October.

I have always just played until BDO wasn't cutting it anymore and then played something else for 2-6 months and then come back to BDO for a couple of months. Set some realistic goals and when I hit them, take a break unless I really want to keep playing. When I come back, there always seems to be some changes and added content that will keep me going for another couple of months.

To answer a couple of your other questions.
NOTE: I really like BDO a lot and have played it for about three years now.

01) It is still a heavy grind.
02) Life skills can be AFK'd. Most life skills you either have to actively do or check in on it every 15 minutes or so.
However....
03) PA (Pearl Abyss) is currently giving away a free T9 Dream Horse.
Also, there are a TON of QoL (Quality of Life) improvements.
04) Subject yourself and complete the Magnus quest and....
a) You get your choice of a free PEN piece of Boss gear.
b) Quick travel, at a silver cost, to many areas on the map.
c) The best QoL, All of your city / town inventories are connected. You can grab and place inventory from ALL of your city / town inventories from ANY city / town inventory.

some people like exactly that, but maybe FF14 is better for u. u dont sound very hyped when talking about bdo.. im sure you can afford the 11 euro per month for the ff14 sub.. if you cant afford that, then u have other problems than gaming anyways

maybe focus on getting some money first

If you play this game seriously you will spend FAR more than a 15 dollar monthly sub. I would much rather just pay a monthly sub and less in your face micro transactions. I've spent over 200 just this month on this game.

Really? I have spent around $15 a year on this game. Granted, I only play it around 4-5 months out of the year. I don't get why people find it necessary to throw money at the game.

I have an average PC btw. I was saying about my friend. Also I know it seems like I'm not hyped talking about BDO but that's just how I speak on MMOs lately. The reason I don't pay ff14 now is because I wasted money on Baldur Gate and didn't want to spend more.

ah alright.. well you need to start from new in bdo.. which means u dont have maids.. having no maids felt like the worst thing to me as a beginner in bdo
so u gonna spend some money one way or another

I fully understand when people say bdo is a boring game, but i find it a cool game for endless grinding
I also play ff14 from time to time, but only for 1 or 2 months every year..i cant be bothered to grind ff14 for example..only doing some dungeons and raids there

You can catch up.to a 2018 2019 account and surpass where you were in probably a week easy. They even just recently gave away the super rare grind horses (not sure if that's still running or jot)

Yea the game went from super insane long to super easy now with these changes. Recently came back 2 days ago on a fresh account since my old one was deleted when they changed over and its crazy how much stuff they just force down your throat now much easier/faster to get to mid game now.

As a player who also lost his account due to not knowing about the merge, I recommend it! You will level up pretty fast honestly and it will refresh your mind on lore IF you decide to start from the actual beginning. They have two other options to start your character from and both of which level you up pretty fast (the newest one seems faster, but that could be because its a season character),

If you don't pay any money you will just be extremely inefficient when you play. Gather materials alongside someone who has a T4 hedgehog for an hour then compare materials. They will accomplish in one hour what you will in three.

They basically replace old grind with new grind constantly. Season makes full TET gear easy but TET gear now is like +15 gear back than, which is pretty much irrelevant to everything new. Boss blitz doesn't use your gear but you have to run through the whole story and boss fights in BDO is just bad IMO with all the desync and empty hits. A lot of other different new grindfest was added on top of getting full PEN. I quitted before they give out free T9 horse and I can't even bother going back for it. The QoL in this game was never a problem for me so all the new QoL changes just feels like a distraction from their tragic class balancing. IMO don't come back. Maybe wait for Blue Protocol or Chrono Odyssey (still waiting for actual gameplay) or go back to FF14.
