Fughars timepiece vs graduation for first character
I am leveling up this character to 61. I heard that I can pretty much boost a new character to the same level if I use the timepiece. If I do that instead, will that invalidate my graduation rewards like swell sea shell boss exchange coupons and graduation rewards like trading in your pen tuvala for tet boss?

Thanks

No, all using the timepiece does is copy your current seasonal character's level and skill experience as well as their seasonal status to a new character.

Your original season character will immediately become a normal character, your new character will become your seasonal character, they'll be lvl 61 right off the bat, they'll be able to use your current tuvala gear, and you'll be given a set of coupons to exchange your tuvala weapons for ones appropriate to your new class(do not do this if your original seasonal character was your main).

You can then graduate your new seasonal character immediately, though I strongly recommend getting it to the initial velia portion of the main story, and then taking the option of doing the "shortened" or whatever version of the main quest, as being lvl 61 will instantly clear all of it, and thereby give your new 61 their own set of misty breeze skill point books, essentially doubling the amount of skill exp they have.

You will still have all your shells, you will still get the same graduation rewards everyone does.

obviously this assumes you've cleared the season pass, which is required for getting the special seasonal gift, which is an absolutely invaluable PEN Capotia Necklace.(do not take any other option but this if this is your first time doing season. Absolutely none of the other options are as good as the necklace.)

So basically do the time piece at 61 and then don't exchange my weapon?

For some reason it allowed me to claim my season reward already. I got the necklace. Yet I'm still a season character.

Are you sure you get more skill point books???

I'd like to say thank you to everyone in this post. It was not my post, but it was immensely helpful.

As for skill point transfer, it does not happen. You start out with zero skill points like you normally would with a new character. The [Simplified Questline] is MUCH better than when it was first implemented. It is obvious now and very user friendly. You do get the skill books from the simplified questline. After following it through to completion you get 800 plus skill points.

Skill points DO copy over. A character that is timepiece copied will have the exact same amount of base xp and skill xp as the season character they are replacing.

THIS INCLUDES ALL SKILL POINTS GAINED VIA THE SEASONAL MISTY BREEZE BOOKS, as these items don't actually give you skill points but skill experience.

Your timepiece copied character will be in whatever situation they were in prior to you using the timepiece. Generally early in the story or just starting out.

If you continue with their main quest whether normally or with the special shortened version, you will get ANOTHER set of misty books upon completing each regional main story.

I dont know what you did or didnt do correctly, but theres no way you timepieced a level 61 and ended up with zero on the replacement season character. That is literally not how the timepiece works.

I created a normal level 1 Guardian. I did not do anything with it except create. No quests, nothing, not anything. I then time pieced my Seasonal level 61 Corsair and selected my level 1 Guardian that had zero skill points since I didn't do anything with it except create. Then I followed the regular questline gaining skill points from then on as a Seasonal Character. I see now what might have been meant was that skill points from the normal 1 to 25 level character would transfer with it as a Seasonal character. I didn't interpret it that way when I read the post. For this I humbly apologize.

What I meant was that my Corsair skill points did not transfer from it to my Guardian. I hope I made better sense. All is good. 😊

Yea except they are supposed to do so. So no, all is not good, you either encountered a bug or you didn't use the timepiece as it was supposed to be used, if you never logged into the guardian this is why you failed to get the skill points from your corsair.

The timepiece specifically states that it transfer combat and skill exp from the old seasonal character to the new one.

My lahn started out with my nova's skill points - minus the handful that are from quest rewards. She had all the skillpoint exp earned from grinding, and all the skill exp gained from the books.

She effectively started with something like 700-800 skill points, and then after I did the shortened main quest, had 5 books of her own to use to gain more. She's basically beginning to experience the skill point soft cap, never having ground for skill points herself.

I got the levels, but not the skill points.
Maybe this was the issue why it did not fully work for me.

My level 61 Seasonal character with 800 plus skill points had the timepiece on them.
When I tried using the timepiece it complained and instructed I needed to be on a normal server, so I logged my non-graduated Seasonal character into a normal server and then used the timepiece by my non-graduated Seasonal character.

I selected my Seasonal character that was on a normal server and then selected the character that I wanted to become the new Seasonal character.
My level 1 character became my new level 61 Seasonal character.
Everything seemed to work perfectly, except I didn't get the skill points transfer. 😔
My new Seasonal character was level 61 with zero skill points after transfer.

:sigh:
