Did Atoraxxion for First Time
I got invited by an old BDO friend I met some years ago at world bosses. He sent me an invitation to join him and three ofhis friends to do a five person team at Elvia Atoraxxion dungeon.

I told him I was concerned my visual impairment (and inability to see colors in lights and the like) would hold them back, but he was encouraging and insistent. He said he'd guide me via discord verbal chat (I don't have microphone, but I can hear other people when they talk).

I finally agreed, and I have mixed feelings about it.

The dungeon mechanics are absurd, esoteric and ridiculous. Hit these when they flash and don't when they don't flash. Push these here and then attack those. Touch this wall at this time with this color (colors I couldn't see, but Birker walked me to the wall and told me when to do that).

The mechanics were distressing, unfun and ridiculous.

However, my friends were kind and helpful. So I spent a bit over 3 hours with them and ended up with around five billion in loot (stunning, to me).

They insisted I return with them tomorrow, and I guess I'll do that, though I'll take the awakened witch instead of awakened guardian as there are some encounters where iframes (witch) are more helpful than forward guard (guardian).

I'm reminded of some of the descriptions of the new five person team LoML Part 2 boss fights BDO announced in the recent Heidel Ball.

I sure hope the new events aren't nearly as complicated and whimsical as the rules in Atoraxxion.

I like that BDO has stuff people can do with each other, but I wish it wasn't so silly.

p.s. The other four were all 753 GS players compared to my 709 GS, but were supportive.

I went back to Atoroxxia again today. It was a nightmare. The place is so blind unfriendly it's ridiculous. My friends want me to keep returning even though I cost them a few party wipes because I couldn't see what they were warning me or kept standing in wrong place because I couldn't see things they told me.

And the mechanics are so whimsical. Hit this, don't hit that, stand here, stand there, stand here, stand there, no here, no there, here, here, there, watch out for that, and I couldn't see anything or how they were supposedly knowing where to go.

The place is worse than magnus, and I never thought anywhere would be worse than magnus.

It took me half an hour of convincing them I just can't return there. It's simply impossible.

Dungeons with puzzles (and badly implemented puzzles) is anathema to dungeon crawling party content.
They are not the only ones heavily using puzzles in dungeons , I've been playing other asian MMOs and most of them result in an unfriendly , retarded, boring and time wasting experiences.

The only game so far I've enjoyed while playing dungeon content was to some extent Lost Ark on release.
Dungeons where a blast to play, they were dynamic and had a lot of fighting (make the game communicate better to the player what is going on tho), classes were fun to play (even tho with not so tight mechanics like in a better MMO for dungeons like WoW for example) but it was a good way to start.

BDO suffers from general design mistakes that are trying to steer in the recent years in some way. It was a game conceived for PvP with little to no content planned that had to steer violently because it wasn't profitable anymore (very easy to spot btw but they failed at that, but that also could have been Kakao games and their intention).
Dungeons implementation is bad, and it's a pity because with good PvE content that people would actually want to play to show off their class/outfit/ability it would be a great hook for players that actually like the social aspect of mmos and the emergent gameplay that this would bring. Not to mention a boost in active players (i mean players that don't play afk which are a cancer for every game in the long run).

BDO has HUGE potential if handled properly, they just need to bet more on active players when delivering content and remember that PvP is not for the majority of customers but also it must not be forgotten (and btw pvp in bdo is probably the worst on the market and that's a big issue).

PA please give your puzzles needs a break (they are annoying and very badly implemented) and put dungeons in the game that involve fighting which is your game strength, every working MMO has some degree of proper dungeon content, and they are successful for very good reasons, there's no other way around it, those things work for a reason and you can't reinvent the wheel by making it square.

Dungeons in BDO shuld works like heist in Payday.
go from start point to quest iteam. Fight enemyies return of wait until you can run away. Maybe add some boss fight before exit. That is no puzzle of guffy mechanic

If we remove puzzles it would be clicker aimed at people with disabilities as the main target group, look what happened to d4 or LE, it became veggie fiesta.
