And the mechanics are so whimsical. Hit this, don't hit that, stand here, stand there, stand here, stand there, no here, no there, here, here, there, watch out for that, and I couldn't see anything or how they were supposedly knowing where to go.
The place is worse than magnus, and I never thought anywhere would be worse than magnus.
It took me half an hour of convincing them I just can't return there. It's simply impossible.
They are not the only ones heavily using puzzles in dungeons , I've been playing other asian MMOs and most of them result in an unfriendly , retarded, boring and time wasting experiences.
The only game so far I've enjoyed while playing dungeon content was to some extent Lost Ark on release.
Dungeons where a blast to play, they were dynamic and had a lot of fighting (make the game communicate better to the player what is going on tho), classes were fun to play (even tho with not so tight mechanics like in a better MMO for dungeons like WoW for example) but it was a good way to start.
BDO suffers from general design mistakes that are trying to steer in the recent years in some way. It was a game conceived for PvP with little to no content planned that had to steer violently because it wasn't profitable anymore (very easy to spot btw but they failed at that, but that also could have been Kakao games and their intention).
Dungeons implementation is bad, and it's a pity because with good PvE content that people would actually want to play to show off their class/outfit/ability it would be a great hook for players that actually like the social aspect of mmos and the emergent gameplay that this would bring. Not to mention a boost in active players (i mean players that don't play afk which are a cancer for every game in the long run).
BDO has HUGE potential if handled properly, they just need to bet more on active players when delivering content and remember that PvP is not for the majority of customers but also it must not be forgotten (and btw pvp in bdo is probably the worst on the market and that's a big issue).
PA please give your puzzles needs a break (they are annoying and very badly implemented) and put dungeons in the game that involve fighting which is your game strength, every working MMO has some degree of proper dungeon content, and they are successful for very good reasons, there's no other way around it, those things work for a reason and you can't reinvent the wheel by making it square.
go from start point to quest iteam. Fight enemyies return of wait until you can run away. Maybe add some boss fight before exit. That is no puzzle of guffy mechanic
