Why is the 'take portrait" option so jank?

can't toggle basic stuff, helmet bugs out and is only visible for a couple seconds, head follows the mouse as you try to click the button so always looking at weird angle, and then most of the time it doesn't even take the picture and it never shows up,

I changed my look like 4 months ago to something I like and will stick with. But my stupid portrait is a doofy lookin suit and tophat because every month or so when I gather up the patience to try and fix it it bugs out and doesn't work and I give up again.

you can simply hit SPACE to take the picture, no need to hit the button with the mouse.

I concur and it is what I do.
Here is how I do it.

First: I put on the outfit, remove or add glasses, remove or add the hat, to prep for the portrait.
Second: I zoom in and zoom out to get the area I want the picture taken.
Third: I move my mouse to get the eyes and face positioned to where I want them.
Fourth: I press spacebar then press enter to take my pic.

Even using space (which I use), it still needs an overhaul. Aside from obvious stuff like hide cape (I hate capes on outfits in BDO), the zoom wheel doesn't obey my wishes ever. When I try to get the right angle for the body, it zooms into the face. I don't want auto-zoom, and I want more control on costume and angle :(

Yeah the outfit I use when you hide cape part of the shirt goes away and that's the look I'm going for, but I literally can't get that look in the busted portrait view
