Is this game fun to play with friends?
I'm not into PVP but I like PVE and fighting boss monsters with friends. Does this game offer that?

omg those people at this post dident even tell you the main failiure points of bdo considering playing with friends

1# there is no trading between players so lets say you drop somthing your friend really wants you cannot give it to him/her making drops pointless as a group ``why is the reason why everyone is grinding solo ``

2# exp is shared between party members equally in other words if u have 4 players its 25%
of the exp from s single monster split between 4 players since it takes decades to level up this is a big problem causes people to yet again `` grind alone ``

3# Guilds -> its mainly pvp really xD there are guild quests but you must travel to contested places where yet again u have to pvp for spots most of the times
there are life skill guild missions but they are boring
there are special guild bosses and those are actually fun you can do them with your guild

4# world bosses well the health bar of the boss is spread trough all servers so lets say your on velia 1 and your attacking the boss people from lets say velia 2 got the same boss with the same health and they all deal damage to the boss
in other words its pointless to party up for a world boss cause there are always 100+ players
hitting the boss even thou you cannot even see them next2you

5# field bosses well actually this is pretty fun to do with your guild the health bar is not devided between servers but its highly contested not that it matters xD

6# loot u must be thinking BUT HOW DOES LOOT WORK FOR WORLD/FIELD BOSSES
well its easy lets say you hit the boss ONCE and just stand on the side people kill the boss
and you still obtain all the dropped items its not random its litrally overall so everyone got the same amount of chance to obtain an armor or weapon piece or other drops from the boss
without having to fight roll or anything for it in other words NO FEELING OF ACHIEVMENT
from killing world/field bosses.........

7# teleportation is limited and you must cross the world on a horse mainly

there are other ways to travel but teleporting has a 4-12 hours cooldown so yea thats pretty dumb since without a really good horse it can take 30 to 45 minutes to cross the entire map
which is really long same rule applys to sea content if you dont have an equiped boat or the right sailing level it takes decades to reach places like lets say ``vell`` while others with maxed out everything can easy get there under 10 minutes

traveling in this game feels like a pain thats all i got to say about it without dream horse

i could also talk about the PvP skills and classes but that takes too long to cover i hope this information is enough for now ;D

In the several hundred hours I have played, Ive not been in a party once. There is different ways to group up and do stuff with friends, but mostly, this game is based around the long journey of progressing your character over several months of time.

You can get into it and you can try it with your friends, but this game is mostly a solo game, you will see if you wan't to party with your friend you will actually get punished for that, but you can still do it if you really wan't to
About World Bosses there are a few in this game, they have a fixed scheldule when they spawn.
You can also wait for titles that will be PVE focused with World Bosses , field bosses like Bless Unleashed ( early 2021 on steam).

No is not

dont loose your gameplay time in this game graphics are nice but the game is totally ruin with extra farming. u gonna loose time for nothing in wow for ex you loose time playing but u win titles , honnors , friends u dont play for nothing in black desert yes you 're just here to loose time, no objectives, no rewards for the time u played in ....

the majority of the game is not fun or well-made for friends. but pvp fights with some coordination between you and your friends are fun, and some activities such as whale hunting require more than one person. if you're a pve player who likes boss fights i strongly suggest you don't buy the game, the game has a large focus on pvp and the boss fights aren't anything too great.
pvp is total unbalanced laggy ♥♥♥♥

Playing with friends, yeah, i do that. Constantly.

We do guild quests, where all are taking down a mob, doing lifequests (chopping alot of trees, many of them are building ships/advancing their ships), doing guild boss scrolls, or sailing out manning cannons to take out a sea monster. We get game coin silver for that, and coin into the guild funds as well.

I team up with guild members who need advice/help with various quests or higher level mobs h.

No, you can't *trade/give* goods to players. But there are * party* potions you can create and use for other members when fighting, long as they don't use another potion, they get the benefit.

World boss fights tend to be short, the higher level you are the shorter they seem to get.
However, there's always many other boss monsters and daily/weekly solo/group boss monster quests.

And yes, I know of one quest that requires a party, no solo allowed, that's the Valtarra Altar of Training.

Black desert online is perhaps the most singleplayer MMO out there.

Long story short, no not really. You can do most things better by yourself (and probably will), the only time a group is really a better option is if you are grinding for levels and that is obviously boring. That being said, there is "some" content that will benefit from having a friend with you, sailing for example. Be it on a normal boat were you can have people use your cannons or if you run multiple boats and shoot from the helm but thats the only good example. Everything else isn't worth doing to begin with. The game can be played with friends but it gets boring pretty quickly. I started the game with 5 friends a year ago and we all still play but after 3 months or so we hardly do anything together now because we all have different content we enjoy. This game massively lacks any good PvE party content that keeps you invested or has a good payout, its mostly pick the mob you want to kill together and go kill it over and over.

No. If you want an MMO designed around playing as a group, you have to go all the way back to 2004 (play WoW Classic). There are current MMOs like ESO and FFXIV that have multiplayer content like dungeons + raids + world bosses. BUT, most of those games is solo content. You just do quests solo and have zero issue as enemies do hardly any damage to you and you kill them in 4 seconds. In BDO, the multiplayer is 98% pvp and 2% world bosses, and 96% of the actual game is solo grinding stats. There isn't even player to player trading in this game.

In WoW Classic, mobs are tough, so you cant take on more than 2 at a time without getting killed, so grouping up to complete quests is paramount, this makes for a much more fulfilling PVE experience alongside actually having content for multiplayer instead of BDO which is mostly AFK grinding stats or mindlessly killing packs of mobs for gold to buy gear.
