New Char Starting Zone Question
I've rolled up a new seasonal character. In the tutorial I get an option to pick one of 3 starting zones. one is recommended for beginner and says its starts the story from the beginning. the other two are recommended for veteran with one of them saying it's "new update".

It's been 6 years since I last played and I really could use a refresher on just about everything. Should I pick the beginner one? And more importantly, do I miss out anything to do with "land of the morning light" (the one labeled "new update") if i choose this?

Yes start in the stone chamber it will give you a full refresh of the game and story continuity :) and No it does not change anything in the LOML update or mountain of eternal winter :)
If you do the loml or eternal winter starts, you will just get a quick flashback of the story at the start :) so in essence it's do what you feel is right for you :) because the start location is just a starting point, you can still do all the main quests no matter what choice you make :)

Ancient Stone Chamber, is the best starting location. It starts you in the heart of everything.

Everfrost Eternal Winter is a great start if you prefer more story and less grind. But, I personally would not start here unless I already had a T8 mount.

Land of Morning Light (LoML) Do Not start here at all unless you have already built up your ALT's, Energy, Contribution Points, and have a ton of Loyalties saved.

I agree with Maconijnr and Tsel13 that Stone Chamber is best place to start and will simply add that you can still go back and do the Everfrost and LoML quest chains with the same character after you graduate.

So you do Ancient Stone Chamber to advance in levels and gear, and you do the other ones whenever you want for the stories and (in case of LoML) stat rewards and the like.

Also, you might want to do the Magnus Questline (after you graduate) before attempting the LoML story line since LoML is not connected to the mainland in any useful way, and the Magnus quest line opens up the ability to travel from city to city directly (at expense in silver).

I would like to add that you do not need to graduate to do the other quests.
You can stay a Seasonal Character and do other quest lines as well.
