(though I will internally rephrase that as the number of near successes lol)
Cheers again for your help :)
I wish you the best of luck either way :)
Hmm - maybe I will aim towards the latter in later attempts... for now my first roll is set up for the Pegagus with 1% probability - yeehaa :)
In my humble opinion, I like the Dine best because the E skill can heal the rider, useful for classes that don't have out of combat self heal (like Guardian). Also the Dine seems to be able to take a remarkable beating compared to the Pegasus.
You're right about the Pegasus being highly mobile in mountains (and fun), Dhansak. But as Tsel13 pointed out, the Dine has mobility in the Desert, so it all works out whichever you get.
I have my witch ride the Pegasus because she can heal herself and the Guardian ride the Dine. Admittedly, now that my Guardian has an infinite health potion the self heal is less important, but I still like those mounts for those classes.
I can't wait to see what you get :)
The reason is that most monsters 15 levels or more below your mount's level will ignore the mount. This is immensely useful for grinding monsters (or if you're a life skill character leaving your mount in dangerous areas while you work.
Certain monsters, like world bosses, rift bosses, towers, tiny spiders and a few others are so aggressive they'll attack anything. But almost everywhere else you can call your mount ot you right next to hoards of monsters and dump your loot into the saddle bags without the horse being attacked.
It takes a lot (lot, lot, lot, lot, lot, lot) of XP to get a horse up to 82+ level, but if yo're planning on working training on your main character anyway, consider working your dream horse up to super high level instead of working lots of temporary mounts to 30th level.
My goal with my Dine is to hit at least level 87 because I heard there will be level 72 monsters in BDO soon. But 82nd level can cope with level 67 and lower monsters which is good for almost anywhere in BDO.
Just something to consider :)
Post Script: You mentioned you're Skilled 3 training so far (congrats on that). In the Quests Menu (O) there is a quest chain called Leap Training. Consider taking that to at least help you get to Professional 1 so you can use Sprint on auto path loops with your mounts. I've used the Leap Training quests to help get several of my characters to Professional 1, and it does help.
I am still oscillating between my preference but hey - I'll take whatever RNG gives me eventually lol :)
Big thanks for the huge tip over horse level and monster aggro. That is definitely something I will work towards (see my perturbed teleporting horse thread - don't like animals in danger lol).
Right - off to do my first roll. Will be back with the result when I succeed. I may be some time :)
Now off to Heidel for leveliing up with my Trainer. Also must change the Dine's name from something bizarre to something more me-friendly (bought the tier 8 courser I used for 1.1bn from the horse market).
BTW - thanks Karna5 for the tip about the Leap Training quests - will be the next thing I do with my trainer!
Cheers :)
How many attempts did your Dine take? 😊
@Dhansak
Now you want to get a full set of Krogdalo Gear for your Dine.
I have +8 on all of my Wind Krogdalo Gear on my Dine.
Haven't been lucky enough to get +9 or higher on the gear yet.
Also ditto on the congrats. 😊
Ooh - Krogdalo Gear? I sense another enticing rabbit hole to dive into! Thanks for the heads up :)
As you know, I'm probably going to hold off more attempts on the doom for a few months so I can focus on trying to get better DP since I keep failing on my helm upgrade for the last many months (980 cron stones per try).
