is there a way to change family name

without spending money... just got the game and i just wanted to test out the classes so i just made my name by sliding my keyboard and now it seems like im stuck with the name no matter what...

Yes, I am for real. It's blatant greed to charge ten bucks for something that costs the company nothing, but the developers don't care what anyone thinks of their greed.

You don't know if it costs them nothing, there is possibility that they hardcoded that part and if they want to change it they would need someone to do it manually, that's why they lock it behind paywall.

i thought when you first start playing you do not get to set family name. i didn't get to choose family name till at least level 10 or higher

If it was hard coded they would just say it was impossible and leave no solutions towards resolving it. It's likely just a line in a database that is easy to change and costs them nothing to do.

They do change names for free depending on the situation if you ask them nicely. I got mine changed for free because I accidentally hit a random button on my mouse that added an extra character in my name. Also, name changes will not be applied to your account until the next maintenance which is on May 10 for this week. If your account is fairly new too, then I believe that is more likely to happen. Mine was exactly 1 day old when they did.
