Sherekhan Necropolis, Pity Pieces
:sigh:
Sherekhan Necropolis hates me and doesn't want me to get Pity Pieces. 😊
I grind there in the daytime, with a 230.5% drop rate, and not a single Pity Piece drops within 1-1/2 hours.
This happens to me often.
If it wasn't for the weekly Pity Piece quest, I'd probably only have 2 or 3 of them after 2 months of grinding for an hour a day.

So, my question: Do Pity Pieces Drop more often a Night versus Day or is there's no difference?

Any suggestions?
I ask because my real life routine never has me in BDO during the night for the most part, so I would need to set aside a time where I could enter BDO at night.

As I have said before you disregard which mobs drop the pities if you want to grind it fast. The ancient spirit is hardly ever worth how much he griefs your hour, but you can go out of your way for it if you wish to do so. Your goal when grinding pot pieces should be quantity of mobs, not ones that might drop what you need. Blendering through as many monsters as possible is always the fastest way to get the pot pieces, especially considering today's ap values compared to back when they took combos to take down.
A-Okay, I'll give the methodology you suggest a go tomorrow.
Crossing my fingers. 😊

Keep in mind that you want to be killing as many enemies per hour as physically possible, it doesn't really matter at all which ones drop rare things as the rotations containing the most mobs will give you the most chances in almost all cases concerning the pot grinds. Best of luck to you, and remember your tent/kama buff. Focus on improving your speed, not standing over the mob that drops it, praying that your grind is over. A lot of the stuff I say here is a result of mistakes that I used to make, and have since corrected too. It's very easy to get consumed in 'this drops what I need so I must kill this only' mentality, when forgetting that there's more mobs right next to you that have more overall rares packed in between huge clusters. Killing 5 elites that drop the full piece vs killing 500 standard enemies that drop pities with only an elite or two spread out in the rot will end faster for the pity player. If you get the full piece that's a bonus, but 100 pities isn't that hard with this mindset. The faster you kill, the faster you get a piece. The challenge isn't finding the right enemies to kill with the infinite pieces, it's killing the most enemies. It's also less mentally taxing when your whole goal is murder spree.

Welcome to my world lmao :) I mentioned in another post sometime ago that the sherekhans hate me lol
I have been trying for nearly a yr to get the sherekhans piece, i have 70 fangs the amount of hrs spent grinding is well into the 100's maybe the 1000's lol
All the other pot pieces i have and have had a long time, so grinding the necropolis is like pulling teeth to me :)
My findings are during daytime with drop events like the current one, and 245.5% drop rate I might get 1 fang in 2-4 hrs sometimes 2 fangs, but I get bored after that and just don't want to grind anymore there mainly out of pure frustration lol

Night time I can get the same amount of fangs (2) in just 1 in game night an costs me about 200 energy before it's day again (again during drop events), I just wish the spawn time from the graves was reduced,
the animation is so slow that you are wasting valuable night time just waiting for the enemy to spawn and grave reset after killing.

I've always had much better luck getting fangs from protties cave (3-4) in same amount of grind time, the problem is they are only available to get at protties during events like the 1 that's happening now. :)

Outside of drop events with a 200-250% in drop buffs I might get 1 fang in 6hrs of constant grind and that is just dire in the worse sense of the word lol
Like you say without the weekly quest the sherekhan grind would be horrendous, and if i'm being honest I think the devs f'd us all when they introduced the weeklies by reducing the drop rate of the pity pieces, I say this because i used to get more of the various pity pieces from grinding before they introduced the weekly quests, :)

I'd go to Protty Cave to grind for Pity Pieces, but you know that spot is going to have so many people there like Seasonal Servers do on week 1. 😞
Maconijnr Apr 21, 2023 @ 11:16am
If you are playing a season toon then yeah it can get quite congested at protties because limited servers, if however you are playing on normal servers, then it can be quite easy to find a server where the spot is free to grind away :)
I was there for a cple hrs the other night and wasn't interrupted by any other players :)
Tsel13 Apr 21, 2023 @ 11:41am
How many Pity Pieces did you get?
I'd be playing a normal server with my Tamer.

Ermm I use scrolls to judge my grind time so I grind in either 2 or 4 hr stints, wed night (after new event started) I was there just over 2hrs and got 3 fangs :) average for me at protties is 1 about every 45-50 mins which is way better than my average at the sherekhans lol

Sherekhans night time is the most productive for fangs during drop events by way of time use, but going back and forth each night gets annoying and hanging around there in the daytime grinding waiting for the night time burns me out lol

Edit: Graduated my Tamer from season last week can honestly say the class is growing on me lol still playing her :)

Just out of curiosity, how much trash do you make per hour at necropolis? I averaged over 8 fangs per hour until I dropped the full piece on the 8th or so hour. It seems to me that the spot is more you not grinding it correctly than difficult, considering it was the fastest of the 3 for myself and my friends that have gotten it. I would also like to add that I got it during the day, and only did 3 nights at necropolis and averaged some or similar fang results due to me not having good gear when I got it,

Night or day Necropolis is a very smooth sailing grind. It seems to me that you have difficulty clearing the mobs correctly rather than the spot being slow, as even navarn steppe wasn’t that slow (and I got my pot piece back when you had to lifeskill for it and carve packs with tet loggia or manos one by one). But to answer your question, night is a faster pace with higher gear (281+ ap), but overall it’s not that much different.

Averaging around 300-350 mil when i night grind there that's just the trash bravery things, daytime i couldn't say for sure not done it for ages lol,
I know which enemies drop the pity pieces and I also 1 shot the groups, with 5 tier 5 pets on red setting grabbing loot, multiple times the sherekhan mini boss spawns and drops garbage crap for me when i'm there.
just have extremely bad luck when it comes to getting the sherekhans lol for instance I got the ronaros (rons thingy) actual item in under an hr of grinding, the blood wolves i have the halfmoon and just under 200 blood oaths, and i got all those just by doing the dailies at blood wolves. :)

when did you do your pot pieces? was it before the introduction of the weekly quests because as i mentioned I used to get tons of pity pieces all the time then the weeklies started and the amount i got dropped off significantly :)

You can't have 5 tier 5 pets, only 4 t4 with a t5 captain. It was during the first week of the weekly quests. I got my pot pieces during the time of the weeklies, and each one took under a week. (the full piece, not individual spots). You should be making over 600m at night at Necropolis if you're doing it right. You don't want to care about killing the mobs that drop the full piece or the pities in my experience, you just kill everything at a fast rate and get the most results that way. Hyperfocusing on specific mobs doesn't really go as fast as barreling through the entire region on a murder spree, as the pities will pile up incredibly fast, and you'll only miss 2-3 'full piece' mobs.

Yes you can have 5 tier 5 pets but only 1 master can be made if you make them all master's then no you can't have 5 pets out :)
I guess you got lucky with your pot pieces :) as i said i have all the others and tons of spare pity pieces the sherekhans 1 is however proving elusive to me, when i said I 1 shot mob the groups. i am not targeting any specific mobs, i just mass slaughter everything in sight as fast as i can :) I only mentioned i know which drop the piece is that, i make a mental note to myself to watch the loot pick up as I smash into them, when it comes to night grinding yes i could make more silver per hr, but i am only grinding there for the purpose of the piece so i will often spawn a grave so many times get bored, then stop for a few mins to do other things, outside of game like commenting in a steam thread lol :)

They have the same loot speed as t4s, the only thing showing in that picture is over a billion needlessly spent silver. I never even bothered with the grave guard mechanic (The daytime elites thing, not the night part that's required.), and I have had several friends do necropolis and it only takes a day, 3 at most, even for the most unlucky. It has the highest rare drop rate of all the spots at night, and is not far behind in the day. You should be getting over 12k trash per hour on a blue scroll with a tent buff 50% droprate for extra pities. If that's the case and you've spent over a thousand hours at necropolis, I hesitate to believe the truth behind that. I'd believe bloodwolves taking a while, I had a friend stuck there for 4 or so days which is the longest I've ever seen a piece take, and that was casually grinding it for a couple hours here and there. Necropolis is just so stonks with drops and such that it is likely the easiest spot out of all of them, with bloodwolves and navarn being the hardest of their respective pieces due to the poor mob density in navarn, and the horrible droprate of bloodwolves pieces.

I think it is a random RNG issue with each player.
I have talked to some other players and they write they have this problem with Blood Wolves or Ronaros.

NOTE: I usually only grind an hour a day, sometimes I can grind more, but it isn't often.
Blood Wolves: I got two full Ancient Pieces in less than a half hour.
Ronaros: I have 90 Pity Pieces in storage, but I have already received 3 full Ancient pieces. All of this took 1 to 2 months.
Necropolis: Depending on my connection.... (No Agris Used).
Calculating Trash Loot Only
Bad connection days, I make approx 210-300 mil silver an hour.
Good connection days, I make 300-400 mil silver an hour.

In a previous Necropolis post of mine I wrote I make 20K trash loot pieces an hour with no agris. I was wrong and looking at the numbers incorrectly. It is really 10K and a bit more on good days.

I do a circle grind at the Necropolis.
I don't like running around in the middle.
Running around in the middle might be better, but I don't like doing it that way, so I don't.

Crystals: I set myself up with an extra damage against Humans layout.
It works best at the Necropolis for me.
With a simple Cron Meal and that Crystal setup, I now 1 shot the groups.
I have 5's across the board except for Gathering and Fishing

Pets:
1 = T5
1 = T4
1 = T3
1 = T2
1 = T1
My T1 is the wizard.
I rotate the wizards to get them to level 10 before I use them to upgrade my other pets.
I have not experienced any loot not being picked up by my pets.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Protty Cave
230.5% Drop Rate
I ground there for 2 hours.

During this event, I got 1 Dragon Fang Pity Piece.
In fact I got it my first 15 minutes there, but no more after that.

On top of that I got....
6 = Abyssal Essence
1 = Rainbow Coral Ring
1 = Red Piece, which is 1 half of what you need to make a Tungrad Ring
8 = Fragments of the Deep Sea
6 = Caphras
19 = Spirit Dust
Trash loot was not much.
I only made 103 mil silver an hour, (206 mil silver total for two hours).

I was able to grind more than 1 hour today. 😊

Maybe it is a waste of silver too you to max the pets, but silver is not my issue lol I can always make more :) I don't need 160+ bill silver for each gear piece with someone else's name on it, because i just play the game and get my gear that way and saying a prayer to rng gods when it comes to enhancing said gear lol
I never said I had spent over a 1000 hrs I said "maybe into" i said "well into the hundreds" I don't make note of every single hr i grind at what location :) a;; i can say is i grind in 2-4 hr stints mostly occasionally 6hrs if my fingers haven't started to cramp at the 4 hr mark :)

What you or your friends have got and how fast you got it, when it comes to the pity pieces is good for you and your friends you got lucky, but if getting the pieces was as easy as you say, every player in the game would be infinite and the devs would have had no need to introduce weekly quests that would take 20wks to get the required number of pieces :)
There is lots of guides and vids about and all start by saying the grind is long lol

edit: I don't have the tent and never will that's real world money and a bigger waste too me than spending in game silver :)

You have your answer as to why it's taking longer than usual. Rotating spots the correct and efficient way will change your progression speed in bdo.

Well, if 5$ when the tent goes on sale for the 200th time in the year isn't a worthwhile investment for 50% better droprate, then you have your answer as to why it's taking you so long as well. I just assumed that people respected their time enough to use a coupon on the tent when it goes on sale to get it for just a meager 5-10 bucks, it's really that cheap with sales. But even if you don't want to buy it, there's a free version that also gives you droprate buffs, if you just do a simple bit of running around for it. Here's how https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnltwIA05nU
