I guess PA assumes that controller users are incapable of memorizing which buttons do what.
Just logged off for maintenance. I actually tried this out of curiosity, a lot of stuff is broken without the U.I enabled, I can't even do standard attacks. Would be half playing with controller half with KB&M lmao. Very messy.
It's so weird though because the basic button prompts I understand y'know with tutorials. I think they stay for to long but that's a different topic. The fact is they do disappear so it baffles me that on horse there's prompts.
Really, all we need is more control over what we can edit for the U.I and this could be included. Been a while but I'm pretty sure even on an alt character it shows tutorial buttons due to level.
There was another thread https://steamcommunity.com/app/972660/discussions/0/2799504352985419244/ about forcing PS4 button prompts, the "solution" was to disable playstation configuration in steam which sounded really odd, but it worked for them. Now when trying that the controller completely stops working and the prompts are the same. Might be due to steams big update recently. Oh y'know what I haven't tried DS4Windows with this, now that I'm thinking about it. The problem with Steam is the controller configs emulate an xbox controller, so the game reads it as so. I'm actually very curious about DS4windows now. Rebinding also isn't a thing. Just needs an option "display xbox buttons OR ps buttons" Sorry for long tangent, food time. o/
Quick edit: Thought maintenance had started but doesn't seem like it.
DS4Windows emulating a DS4 controller breaks it completely. Steam input disabled for PS configuration as suggested by a CM in a previous discussion breaks the controller. Different combinations of steam using "default" settings can work or break. I've tried having only PS configuration enabled and vice versa. Once again it either works or breaks and many more. Every method I've listed and others always show xbox button prompts. Always. There is no way to "rebind" for different prompts (as mentioned in the same previous discussion) you cannot simply rebind to a different button input if the game does not have an option to swap between controllers. Rebinding is a different thing. Whether it's on the games end or steam I'm not sure anymore. The very basic simple solution is to have an option for both to allow the user to swap. The game is multi-platform and has no real reason to not have this option since the files needed for it would be in the game. Oh, one last thing, there was mention of the game not working well with wireless controllers. Just to clear that up real quick I played wired.
TL;DR Game doesn't let user swap button inputs between PS / XBOX. Tried multiple methods. No luck. Have button guide on screen while mounted at level 61 (My main issue) I don't need button guides when I'm over 500 hours of playtime. o/
