I play BDO almost exclusively solo, so yes, BDO is fun solo.
And yes, BDO has a ridiculously slow learning curve, but there's no rush to learn it.
On the flip side, modded Fallout 4 has an even slower learning curve. Both are fun to learn.
p.s. Just explore. Long ago, for instance, i was exploring a place called Abandoned Monastery and had to run for my life because it was so deadly. A little while ago I remembered that place and decided to visit it now that I'm stronger, and it was enjoyable not just to return to a place that chased me away but to explore it.
Annnnd Fallout 4 is another of my favs , heavily modded of course!
