Here's an example of how it looks in remastered, for instance:

Ive turned off any scaling and tried again, still looks like crap.
Here's a quick screenshot i took of the text, it looks like 5x worse ingame and the characters dont look as bad but they definitely dont look good.

Display->Genereal Settings->Quality of Life->Font->Strong Sword
On my 4k screen resolution the default DeJaVu Sans is atrocious :)
Nope, i have my res set to 1440p, game started at some weird version of 1080p res but i quickly changed it seeing as the game looked absolutely horrible, but yeah it didnt fix it.
Im sorry i dont really understand what you mean.
Under general settings i have no quality of life, font or strong sword option.
All i have is "Region" when i click general settings
I definitely recognize the font problem in your screen shot. It's what fonts look like in my game if I use the default font instead of strong sword.
This said, I've also heard from other posters in these forums that yo are not allowed to change the GUI settings in your game until you hit 7th level. I don't know if that's true or not, but if you can make it in game, check the settings once you're in game. The font option should be there (unless they make you wait until 7th level).
In summary, I'm absolutely sure that font issue can be fixed by changing to Strong Sword, but I don't think you can get to that setting from the launcher (you have to get in game). And they might be making you wait until you play longer to change your settings (which would be a very sad design).
I'm asking because a lot of options are not present until you are in game, create a character and change your settings once you are logged into the game.
I havent no, i didnt even want to make a character as my impression was "Wow is the game gonna look this crap too?" despite changing settings so i never actually made a character.
Ill get to it later today.
I have no idea what to do, but this game is unplayable till i can fix this
Ryzen 5 5600x, RTX 3070ti game runs fine?
I also had "strong sword" selected and the text still looks like ♥♥♥♥ and while ingame i changed all graphics to max and it still looks like dogwater.
This game is NOT IT, it doesn't let you access the settings menu from the get go either, you have to waddle through that dogwater intro.
