New player - Are either of these classes ok for pve/pvp?

I'm thinking of rolling Sage or Drakania but they seem to be rated super low for both pve and pvp is that right? I just dont want to commit to something that i will regret..

Just play whatever class that you like. Classes get buffed and nerfed regularly. What is OP now will be nerfed into the ground within a year. Some classes are good at certain grind spots and trash in others depending on mob density and distance from pack to pack. Some classes are S tier for 1v1 pvp and trash for large scale and vice versa.

So ideally, you want to have your main as something that you really like to play and then have alts that you can tag for areas that your main is weak on.

As mentioned just pick the class you like. Don't pick the one which is popular or what others say. Also, you have different opinions and then there are those who like to fool others around. I see those practices in the chat. I play the clientversion myself.
The game becomes much more fun if you pick a class which you like. And if you can't choose, then try it first.

It doesn't answer the question at all. It shows merely what others prefer. And what others prefer is their opinion. Grumpygreen is a great site, but that is just rubbish.
