BDO has become such a gigantic game after so many years that it must have a FREE fast travel system.
Magnus is a joke. We should be able to "jump" to any node on the map.
Did you know that end game items cost 80-200b per item? 75m per hour is a joke.
Yes, you can earn more in other zones, but why would anyone play polly? Nothing drops there and this zone is outdated.
For example I want to get all great marni stones. This means I can earn nothing for months.
What I would really like is if PA offered a Balloon ride between Port Epheria and Nampo.
Alas, such balloon ride does not exist.
I think Pearl Abyss still wants players to feel a sense of danger moving away the world. So I don't see that happening. Also I believe that Pearl Abyss is trying with all their might to keep BDO as a true open world game. So they want to give people some option of fast travel around the map at a cost. But at the same time they don't want players to just instantly directly travel between grind spots.
But this makes it a bit easier for me to connect some nodes to the new area and maybe consider a trade route up north now. *I know it might not be worth a lot, but even land trade routes get boring sometimes, * so I might use this to learn about fishing and sea trade now.
The main reason why I put in this instruction, was for those that are first timers that started in the Land of Morning Light (LoML).
They are in-between a rock and a hard place getting out of there and the free NPC Transportation offers them a way out. 😊
It is a real hassle to get there via other means than Magnus, and Magnus is ...well, it scx
seapalace during the event was the best.
magnus is costly, but i rather kill some mobs for a few minutes and pay the fee...
... then do the public transportation. it takes way to long.
used the epheria cog (loyalties) before the seacurrent change, made it there, but failed the voyage home :)
and finally, i used the cheap bartali sailboat and man... this takes almost as long as public transport.
all in all, pa created a little mess with loml and new players to be honest.
loml is not intended as a new player starting point according to the ingame tooltip when choosing your location, but the option is still there, and since its new, people naturally are going to pick it.
you can argue that its their own fault for not reading, but reading is something a lot of people refuse to do in bdo, and then bombard groupchat with all kind of questions that can be answered by themself if they just read..
anyways. pa should offer a free one-time teleport to the ancient stone chamber once you finished the loml questlines (all of them!).
so that new players dont feel trapped there and dont feel discouraged to play once they have to wait 30 minutes on a boat...
