Is chat dead on all servers? Or do they ignore all players?

Its not that the chat is dead, I guess no one wanted to help you. Google is your best friend in this case.

google could not help me, I had to whisper to one of the Click Queens and then people anwered. God... I hoped BDO were not so toxic anymore but it is worse.

It depends on what server you are on and who is playing at the time you are playing.
On the NA side, I have helped plenty of other players that asked a question to anyone on the Server chat.

I'm not really a chit-chatty person while playing, but I do try to step aside from my game play to help others in chat when I can. If I have nothing of value to add, I stay silent. 😊

The two most popular chat groups are one with orange and one with blue color (sorry forgot both of their names). You should chat in these two and should be specific when asking something.

General (white chat) is only for close-range communication.

You must be playing on some empty servers or have something muted. I had to turn off chat because everyone was trying to be as inappropriate and offensive as possible lmao

Many people only use server chat to find other guilds to join.
But a majority of quest stuff in this game... is better off youtubed or something. Like for the quest answers so you don't zoom through all your energy or save time.

This^^^^ :) I have my chat setup for just guild, party and whisper :)
I do this because I can't be arsed with all the Bull**it in the world/general chat, result I don't see players asking for help, unless they are standing next to me and I see the speech bubble pop up, at which point I will invite them to party and help them via party chat :)

But you don't want to show your gamer's experience (top few favourite game, etc...). This is just a MMO game, The game is no hard, even newbie can just follow walkthrough from youtube like "Any Single player game"

In short, stand in someone's shoes (Me also just start my grind, I cant reply that guy)
Don't expect everyone have time to help you.
It no about toxic, it about everyone is might be busy, because we are just capitalism cog.
How much you complaint cant fix anything, Other player do no owe anything to you, they play by the rule like in real life.

You can however, go to trustpilot related website, go to glassdoor, go complain this company or your employer. Create another trustpilot related website for consumer as competitor, make other player stand by yourside. The only way is to act like union (so all player got equal benefit)

Mine is private because some people can´t see the difference between losing in a game and real-life and use to harass me so bad Steam had to step in.
I am not here to make buddies, I just need help when guides are outdated or no answers come up. Thankfully reddit is my saviour and I got tons of help there.
Never ever asking in chat again, the high voted people needs a reality check how rude they are to new / returning players.
