family wide crystals now
you have a crystal bag that you can put 50 crystals in
those 50 you can place on the crystal page
12normal crystal slots+2extra for garmoth crystals+1costume slot
(some crystals you can only have 2of some you can have as many of them as you want)
you can save 5loadouts
if you die to mobs the crystals on the loadout you use might get destroyed (just like if you had them in the gear)
The Pearl crystals in outfits used to be immune to shattering, but now Pearl cyrstals no longer have the P symbol indicating they're special. Are those smashed if you die now?
And I still can't figure out how to add crystals or what each of my 17 characters used to have.
Why didn't the dev team explain these things in game in the GUI?
A brief and very likely hypothetical explanation of why they made such a change that messes up the sorting and stowing of objects .
For this
To buy more inventory slots for chests and more, as well as having to get more indicatively of items for each character , removing interchangeability.
Doing a positive thing, putting a negative counterpart, the inevitable counterbalance in every online game, too bad that when there are changes , often lead to disagreements in some users , as well as misunderstandings , while in others they see it as a challenge , too bad it is not a challenge , and it is not called that way , but everything else.
In any case , when I see the change , which in any case has been screened and will come into effect on the day they set, I will better understand (by relative way, I will "understand") how this new option/functionality works .
I found this old screen shot of my main character's crystal setup, so I used it to carefully put each of those crystals into my pack:

This combination is supposed to give me all stats to 5 plus all the other stats that character wanted.
I then summoned black spirit, hit 2 for transfsion, opened the backpack system and started transferring all those crystals.
Then I started applying them all until it stopped me, and I now no longer have all stats set to 5.
It's friggin' messed up, and if I understand this correctly, I cannot make any changes without spending 5 dollar pearl items per crystal to get it back to how I had it.
Then I checked my tagged witch, and she doesn't have the crystals duplicated with her variation I'd made. This is so messed up.
I really hate BDO right now.
I've confirmed I can't make changes without using pearl items.
I've confirmed they don't give any way to know what crystals can go with what, and if they do it's not something I can identify.
I'll give BDO a couple of days to make this right, but if this ends up costing me real life USD$ to fix I'm done with BDO. I won't play anymore.
Bye for now. I'll wait to see what happens.
All crystals you've had in your gear/weapons will be placed in your central market warehouse.
All crystals you've had in your costumes will be placed in your Heidel storage.
Black Spirit (,) -> Transfusion is where you can make crystal slot builds with presets that you can name.
This system functions just like the Lightstone system.
You are able to store up to 50 crystals and your crystals will be shared account-wide. Remember they can be destroyed still.
Place the crystals in your character inventory into the crystal storage. This will allow you to finally equip crystals into slots. Remember to press APPLY or you'll be wondering why you aren't seeing any crystal effects.
If you want to remove a crystal out of the crystal storage (not slot), you go to a blacksmith vendor and buy crystal extractions (These are given out like candy from events/login rewards/or pearl/loyalty shop).
There are 3 extra slots that can be unlocked.
Notes: If you already have multiple valor (+1 crit), swiftness (+2 movement speed), or whatever crystals, they're useless now because you only really need 1 of each now.
Bug fix: If the slot isn't being shown to be unlocked, unequip and reequip your gear/weapon/costume with the crystal slot.
Important: There are limits to what type of crystals you are allowed to equip multiples of. There is a huge list regarding this which you can find on GrumpyGreen.
Overall, this is a good change because it saves us money and we gained slot presets. But people need guides to make it user friendly and sites like GrumpyGreen are great if you have questions.
I figured out I can right click the installed crystals to swap what's in the slot, so that fixes my initial concern that made me mad which is that it would cost Pearl items to remove crystals from a slot.
This said, following your post, I was able to install the costume crystal in the correct slot and the awakened crystal (Stormbringer Heart slot) in that correct slot.
But no matter what combination of crystals I try I cannot get back to:
- 5 Movement
- 5 Attack Speed
- 5 Critical Hit
I currently have the following crystals installed:
- Ancient Magic Crystal - Carmae (Crit +1, Attack +1)
- Ancient Spirit Crystal - Swiftness (Move +2) (This is the costume piece)
- Awakened Spirit's Crystal (P +150, AP +5)
- Black Magic Crystal Harphia (HP Recover +5, HP +50, Evasion +8)
- Black Magic Crystal - Precision (Accuracy +8, Ignore Resist 10%)
- Black Magic Crystal - Valor (Crit +2, Grapple Resist 5%)
- Black Magic Crystal - Vigor (HP +50, Stun resist 10%)
- Oluca's Crystal (Extra Human Dam +5, Accuracy +3) (the awaken weapon crystal)
- Red Battlefield Crystal Adamantine (Knockdown resist +25%, Stun Resist +5%)
- Valtarra Spirit Crystal (HP +150, AP +5, Dam vs Kam +3)
The other crystals I used to have equipped I can no longer install:
- Black Magic Crystal I- Intimidation (Knockdown Resist +10%, Stun Resist +5%)
- Black Magic Crystal - Swiftness (Move +2, Knockdown REsist +5%)
- Black Magic Crystal - Vigor (HP +50, Stun Resist +10%)
- Black Magic Crystal - Valor (Crit +2, Grapple Resist 5%)
So I now only have:
- 5 Attack
- 3 Movement
- 3 Critical Hit
The GUI gives no feed back to why I can't install the crystals I used to have, and it has no instructions on what I can do to get the missing 2 ovement and 2 critical hit along with the other resistances I am now missing.
In fact, the whole problem with this (stupid) GUI is it' sjust a web of boxes with no explanation whatsoever.
I do not have ESP, and it seems the developers of this GUI expect us to read their minds across the planet :(
[Edited to add missing line of crystal I cannot install]
Post Script: And I notice that I cannot move the uninstalled crystals back to my inventory. So the GUI does not warn me it will not let me install them, and it does after all want me to use a Pearl item to take back a crystal I did not know the GUI would prevent. That's a scam.
Resistance Increase II Type (Only allowed 2)
- Black Magic Crystal - Vigor (HP +50, Stun resist 10%)
- Black Magic Crystal - Valor (Crit +2, Grapple Resist 5%)
Evasion II Type (Only allowed 2)
- Black Magic Crystal Harphia (HP Recover +5, HP +50, Evasion +8)
Ignore All Resistance Type II (Only allowed 2)
- Black Magic Crystal - Precision (Accuracy +8, Ignore Resist 10%)
==================================================================
The ones you "USE" to have equipped:
Resistance Increase II Type (Only allowed 2 but you already have 2 equipped)
- Black Magic Crystal I- Intimidation (Knockdown Resist +10%, Stun Resist +5%)
- Black Magic Crystal - Swiftness (Move +2, Knockdown Resist +5%)
- Black Magic Crystal - Vigor (HP +50, Stun Resist +10%)
- Black Magic Crystal - Valor (Crit +2, Grapple Resist 5%)
You might need to get Resistance I crystals or something with a different category name if you want to increase those same stats: Ancient Magic Crystal of Nature, and Red Battlefield Crystals are examples of Resistance 1 category crystals. Category types are most likely your problem. Basically you got screwed over and might need to change things up. Basing this off GrumpyGreen's combination/limit list.
Thanks for the examination and answer, Roleplayer. However, part of the problem with this new system is that it does not explicitly warn us if we install a crystal it will block, and any crystal we try is thus lost or needs a Pearl item to recover.
For instance, with movement, it seems to be counting the outfit movement as the same category of what used to be a boots movement. But I'm speculating because it does not say. Outfit crystals used to be their own category. Are they now? Why won't they say.
Likewise, if I were to try adding resistance crystals, and if i guess wrongly, those crystals are lost to me.
I'm just so angry at this GUI and new system, mostly because it's costing me crystals without explanation and without warning. This is not a reflection on you, however. I thank you for your time.
I will not try any ore crystals until they fix this GUI to warn us before we lose more crystals, and I will not equip any of my other 16 characters until they fix this stupid system :(
p.s. And you're calling categories by name, such as Resistance Category. The GUI says nothing of this. How are we supposed to know? :( :( :( :( :(
I have my guardian (uses attack speed) and my witch (uses casting speed) tagged with each other.
They share the same 50 crystal slots, but when I change the speed to casting for my witch it changes the speed to casting on my guardian and vice versa.
How are we supposed to have an attack speed setup for the guardian and a casting speed setup for the witch if they share the same slots, the same preset and keep changing the setup on each other.
This system was so much better the old way. I just had my witch remove the attack speed and add the casting speed, and it changed the witch while keeping the guardian intact.
EDIT: Woah, I just tested my Lahn who is not tagged with anyone, and she's also sharing the same 50 crystal slots as my my main two characters. How are we supposed to fit crystals for 17 different characters if they're all sharing the same pool of 50 crystals. Ths is absurd.
Attack Speed, Critical, Luck, Movement, etc....
What I think is interesting is my character already has a movement speed of +4 without any crystals. But when I add a movement speed crystal it is still +4.
Each preset needs support for 15 crystals currently.
Each character with green gear of various types needs different crystals than those with akum than those with lemoria than those with boss.
Add to that depending on if your weapos are green, blue, offetet (sp?), kzarka, liverto, etc. you need different crystals as well.
And add to that you need a different set for casters than for melee (because crystals are different for casting speed than attack speed)
So if you have a lot of alts you can easily have a situation where you need 20 different presets at 15 crystals per preset for a total need of 300 crystals.
But the current system only lets you store 50 crystals among all your characters combined, and only lets yo uhave 5 presets (which isn't even 3 presets as a caster and a melee each need their own)
For instance, just my main guardian and my main witch as it stands now need to use up 30 of the allowed 50 crystals per account.
So then what about my Lahn, and my sorceress, and my shai, and my mystic and all the rest of my characters?
The current system simply does not work I said it before and still mean it. It's absurd.
But the presets not allow sharing crystals between presets. So if you need to change a single crystal (such as movement to be something else or casting s peed to be attack speed) then you need to use up another 15 crystals with another preset.
Did the dev team forget how their own game works? Have they been playing in end gear so log they forgot about all the starter through medium level armors and weapons one uses to get to end gear?
I think they've been too busy listening to the end gear hoighty poloighty oj the offical forums.
