I see it more like buying an engagement ring. You don't need it to shack up with someone, but I am sure that it helps. Don't know that those are worth it either though.
What they have written is sold and true. You really do not need it.
On the flip side.
I have the Pearl Campsite.
For me it is a big convenience.
I don't carry extra life tools, weapons, or armors, because with the Campsite I can repair them wherever I am at. The campsite also repairs mount gear as long as they are close enough to it.
Other people use the campsite for the many other things it offers, but the ones I mentioned are why I like having it. It is nice, while in the middle of the desert, and being able to repair your gear. Without having to carry extra gear to switch it out or having to stop and find a blacksmith to repair things. It allows me to keep my flow going.
If you do decide to get it. Wait for a discount coupon and then get it.
major reason to get it is to be able to get the Villa buff without going to a Villa every 4h and 50mil drop rate buff, other stuff like repairing gear is something the default tent can do and u just need to do a quest for it.
u can buy the Old Moon Camping Anvil for silver which will let u repair your gear anywhere, don't remember the price but its less than 5mill just type Old Moon in the Central Market.
u can also get:
-Old Moon Camping Shop: Buy potions, gold bars, and buffs with the silver in your inventory.
-Old Moon Camping Container: storage inside the tent (useless really)
Note: those items last 24h so if u wan't them all the time ull need to buy more, if theres none in the Central Market u can buy them from an Old Moon Manager NPC.
if you can afford, YES.
Yes, if you are having multiple alts doing life skills is very usefull and buy the campsite in discount rather then buying full price.
So not sure what your playstyle is, I'm bad at passing up deals, so over the course of a few years I ended up getting all of the above anyway... of everything though, the tent got the least use I'd say due to the way I played, I'm just not that big on grinding.
There was always other things more worth doing to me until my gear score got high enough to grind at the best spots... granted this was before they buffed places like Gahaz, Tauros, cadry, etc.
After that is when I started grinding, but never really enjoyed it., so not many hours doing it..
In retrospect.. I never would of bought the tent even on sale.
TLDR; If you like grinding a lot and plan on doing it a lotta lot lot... then yes.
Just my 2 cents
However, I recently noticed a situation i which the tent will be extremely helpful.
In the Valencia desert one cannot navigate with map unless one uses a compass which expires painfully quickly. In the middle of that desert is a World Boss Nouver spawn.
Travelling from Nouver to Sand Grain Bazaar or from Nouver to Valencia and back is both very time consuming and very difficult to navigate.
Recently I made a Nouver Hunter bos alt, a witch dedicated to living in the middle of the desert and fighting Nouver when she spawns (assuming I'm awake).
I did the Magnus quest line which l links all my banks, so now my Nouver Hunter never has to go to town for any reason.
She can use the tent to repair her gear, and she can send any items to any bank or central market using storage and market maids.
So there are some situations in which the tent is a bigger time saver than going a few screens to town to fi gear :)
I never carry extra life skill gear, but I do carry gear for all life skill occasions.
Many times I spend 2 to 3 hours, nonstop life skilling.
I cannot mention how many times my Shai is in the middle of nowhere, atop a mountain or someplace, and her life skill tool ends up with zero durability.
That tent enables me to get the tool back to 100% and keep on life skilling where I am at. Otherwise I would have had to spend wasted time going someplace to get my tool fixed and back again.
or make anvils yourself
this is not why you buy the tent
the only reason to buy the tent is for the villa buffs like manaca said
(the drop rate buff is on the free tent aswell)
and even that comes with a rather big negative IMO
you need to have a book of old moon contract active for this feature to work
so you need to constantly buy the...worst contract in the game to get any use out of the bought tent
I am not saying you should not buy it
the villa buff convenience is fantastic and this is why they put tent in the shop
but that is why you buy it
not for any other reason
and OP and everyone else should know this
