Taming Horses is broken!

For the love of gaming, please do something, anything. 3 years playing BDO and I still cannot tame a horse. Why is taming a horse so RNG for some of us? But wait, there's more, now we have to do it in order to progress through the Magnus =\. So that means some of us cannot progress! Seen all the tutorials, guides, blah blah blah. SIGH... 4 keyboards later. let me know if something changes,

I feel the pain too! I failed about 20 times.... Will try again next week. Sigh - I hate QTEs. I avoided horse taming altogether until it appeared as part of the Magnus quest line.

Will live with a partial magnus unlock if I have to - but what a shame. To me it seems out of place - but hey, I'd probably feel differently if I was like the majority of folk who can actually do it lol. Such is life - can't have everything!

Note I am tempering my feelings of frustration with a rational overview as it is better for my blood pressure :)

PLEASE offer feedback on this issue in the BDO forums..I have the same issue and , it will take several, if not many, people to post the same issue for the Devs to alter or make a change!

Over 3 years playing this game and I feel your pain. My poor keyboard. Every time I try to tame a horse. Like you, I have watched videos and tutorials and still, I can not do it. I even had a guildie try to show me. I gave up and said I would keep my Donkey and buy a horse later. The horse tame quest in the Magnus, I agree, was out of place compared to the other things we did. I finally tamed a horse in Magnus but it took awhile to do and my keyboard took a beating. Hopefully I will never have to tame another one.

smash space bar, then walk and press f5 when you've reached the horse. feed at least 6 lump of raw sugar. what's your horse training mastery? It can be painful to catch horses below professional.

the way you catch a horse is that you just walk slowly no need to crouch, and if you see a red indicator on the horse it means you're in range to cast the rope.

change server if no horse at the location that you usually find it.

for a horse u do the minigame and then when ur next to it u wait x time so like a minute passed since the time u threw a rope. Somehow it needs a certain amount of time passed till u can actually climb on it (otherwise 100% chance to fail).

What they don't tell you is that you can use steam controller support and tie the spacebar into a button using the controller so it spams just by holding the button down. Turn on steam controller support, get a compatible controller and hold the button to win the space spam game. your keyboards and hurt hands spamming can thank me later. As to the sugars, give it all 5 then wait for the horse to raise it right rear leg and you should be able to mount then. have fun catching horses. :-D

A few small tips :

- for the minigame of catching wild horses , in addition to the things that other users have recommended to you in previous messages, use a keyboard that is inexpensive, but durable.

- always with the economic/cheap keyboard , if you are a little practical, detaches the space key from its seat , almost all are made in the same way , with L-shaped irons hooked to two latches under the key that act as a spring when pressed they go to give the command .
To increase the cushioning/stability/resistance of the button , put a few turns of electrical tape (or paper) on the irons that act as a spring . Once this is done, reattach the key to the keyboard .

- or use an old joypad and change a key of your choice that you will then select in the game options menu on which to use with the joypad .
The button that will be changed will need to be replaced with a normal light button that you use, or that you could use in your day to day to turn on a normal light bulb .
With this modification of the button of the joypad with one of home for his domestic, you will have greater strength and interchangeability .

- if instead you have no problems and you really want to spend a lot of money , there are special keyboards that are like "rolls/sheet" of plastic/rubber a few millimeters thick, you can put all the pressure you want in the keys with your fingers if you do not have control of your strength when using the keyboard , the incovenient of this type of keyboard is that, however, it deforms over time with heat , and some people's hands are like "small heaters" .

- if you're lucky , you can search the internet for the button panel with joystick , type arcade style/game room , but being a "vintage" accessory it will probably be a bit expensive .
With that the buttons and the joystick will hardly break , "unless you go over it with a bulldozer" .

This game , as well as many others , unfortunately have game features that consist of getting you to break through the keyboard, or the joypad .
If you can use tricks/shrewdness/improvements like the ones I wrote to you , if you can understand and implement them, you will benefit from a keyboard for the game in a longer time (or joypad) .
There are others of methods, but these are the simplest .

Of course, always if over time the developers do not decide to modify this minigame to capture them repeating clicker style, with one that does not require demolishing the keyboard or joypad .

Hello [CM] Cadry ,

"with a little detour on the topic of the thread" , if you make an update as you mentioned for this mini game about catching wild horses, if you also put the following "simple thing", as for pets there is the option not to display your own or those of other users, to also do it for OTHER users 'horses when "his rider" is not riding .

The game implodes in having to literally load a bevy of horses , carts , elephants , baby elephants and dromedaries that are parked literally like in a "scrapyard/landfill" depot tendentially in the cities of Velia and Heidel , preventing the view of npcs with which to interact, as well as not seeing where their avatar is while walking .
