When I say pretty functional, what I mean is that it isn't complete sh!t, When I say relatively low, I mean it is a camp fire and not a forest fire.
I think it can be overcome if it is kept limited, at least it can be done between 3-5 friends
In a game where I can't even give my own item to my friend, the barter system and production don't matter.
The main reason is to prevent people account getting hacked for they items. Example: you have billions worth of items in your characters and your online friends know that and people can be jealous. Instead working they decide to hack your account and transfer all your expensieve items into they characters and on top they decide delete your account.
I like the way it should be less problem for customer support from players asking for help saying they account got hacked and lost all items. Runescape and WoW have personal trade but also with biggest account hacks everyday and they rules and guidelines said is your fault and not our fault that your account is not properly set up with decent password and security. Everytime topic about account hacked and customer support do nothing got deleted right away by forum moderators.
