How to offline fish?

I remember fishing being a good way to make money when I played last. I just remember doing it while the game wasnt even open and coming back to a full inventory of fish. I tried logging out while I had my line in the water and when I turned on my pc and got on this morning I hadnt collected anything. Do I still need to have my pc on and the game running in the background or something? I may be not remembering correctly but I think I had atleast closed the game and played other things while doing this.

There is no offline fishing. Maybe you are remembering it from the mobile version of the game...

No it wasnt the mobile version. Ive only played that for maybe an hour. I see other posts on reddit saying how to get the most out out fishing while AFK but not how to do it. I know its possible because I remember coming back to the game and then having a full inventory of fish.

Log into game, go to a fishing spot, cast line, walk away from computer, come.back to your inventory having fish.

You have to leave game running.

Start fishing, then Click Escape, then hit Disconnect, then choose minimize to tray.
Presto, afk fishing and not cranking on your PC hardware.

Not disconnect, but run BDO in tray and leave your computer running.

Well when i choose disconnect it sends me to the page to choose to select character , run in sys tray or actually disconnect, i choose run in sys tray! Works everytime, ;)

Yes, sorry. I thought you meant that you actually choose disconnect.

This is exactly what I remember doing, I knew there was a way to minimize the game without fully closing it I just couldnt remember how to do it. Thanks guys!

Afk means away from keyboard... not offline lol.
