Depending on how you look at it, this game is not pay to win as in; you are able to buy skill points or anything. The game allow you to sell and buy a lot of pearl items in the marketplace giving you increased money if you are willing to spend a lot of cash, but it also give non-paying users a chance to buy pearl items with silver instead.

You will need pets and value packs (which can be obtained in game) at least to play the game descent, so in a way people could describe it as 'pay to win'. I see value packs more as a monthly subscription and you can get pets by buying them of the marketplace, or by rewards.

Buying some items does decrease the time it takes you to get to a certain point in game by a lot, so if you have the money, go for it.

For 10 dollarinos you can play the ENTIRE GAME (as in; an entire MMO just for 10 dollarinos, or perhaps 30) - during any steam sale it'll probably go down... i bought it for half the price.
The most prominent features you might want to consider buying:

A pet (which picks up loot, or else you have to pick it up yourself, very tedious in the long run) - which costs... 11 / 9 additional dollarions - or... if you just buy the value pack of 30 $ you already get an extra pet in the bundle + extras.

Perhaps additional inventory slots (55 at max. obtainable in-game via quests; buy-able until 190ish slots). Tbh 55 is more then enough if you're not going on a fishing AFK trip - fishes don't stack... you can still buy loads of additional storage slots in-game via buildings (in other words ; the bank).

and that's pretty much it. To even reduce the 'p2w' factor: everyone just received a free pet as a 'daily reward' just for logging in (has been the second one being handed out).
You can't buy OP weapons, armor,... in the cash shop. Only items that can increase your XP in various ways; which has no real advantage over all anyway other then you 'finishing' the game earlier (bcs you're reaching your goal faster then others, right?).

No real subscription either; the value pack adds extra XP, additional weight (which can be leveled in-game as well, but in the beginning you'll notice the struggle) and additional storage / inventory slots. You can freely paint any gear you want (customize) and last but not least (probably the best option): 30% bonus to marketplace sales; items you sell to players pretty much. Available for 15$ / month or 45 / 3 months + extras as well. Do you need it? Absolutely not; but it adds extra helpful features and if you like to customize your gear (by coloring it, for example); you can purchase it. The 30% bonus to markerplace sales are pretty handy but then again; everyone still has to pay the tax anyway.

New players will receive a 1 month free value pack + extras - obtainable via daily rewards AND extra servers which have enhanced XP stats (100%+ boost) just to get you started. Various quests will give you very good gear which are equal to very decent gear if you compare them stat wise so you'll be rolling in no-time in PvE - PvP will take loads of practice. Returning players have access to the 100%+ boost servers as well for one month (not sure about rewards...).

So... You get a complete MMO for 30 dollarz which offers numerous hours of GP without any kind of P2W. You can't buy DMG or DEF stats; only various XP boosts. You can also buy costumes which enhance fishing / gathering speed but; in the long run you can create in-game armor which does the same for you (literally exactly the same, to the point you don't even need the costume).

I understand leaving your PC on during the night isn't your piece of cake; but unfortunately it's something kind of mandatory to survive in terms of life skills (not combat wise) - most life skills require some sort of AFK moments or at least you looking at a screen doing somthing else (YT, homework,...). You can earn loads of money during active play but the additional AFK farming has various pro's; not mandatory. You can still build an entire worker empire, for example (see YT) but will be excluded from various life skills if you can't play on a regular basis (and not leave your PC running during work, sleep,...). So don't get me wrong; there are loads of active ways to earn money as well - but it will require you to play additional active hours over someone who does AFK.

Wanna test the game? You can play a trial for 7 days via the official website. ;)

Pay all you want, in the end you would just end up with all the cosmetics and no one to share them with.

You can sell cash shop items to get in-game currency and with in-game currency you can buy essentially whatever you want. Players who have paid hundreds of dollars steamroll other players in open world PvP and drive them away from grinding spots. Gear makes a huge difference in this game and the more you pay the better gear you can get, the gear caps are so high that it also makes the P2W potential enormous. One player can easily take on 20 others assuming he's spent enough money on the game. If you want a good non-P2W MMO try TESO or GW2.

Now let's see how long it takes for a moderator/dev to come remove this post. They don't like it when people state facts.

Selling cash shop items will not make you more money then you would get from AFK fishing or processing unless you're willing to spend hundreds of dollars. Besides that, there are not even too many cash shop items being sold anyway, so on paper this might be a pay to win potential, but in reality it isn't.

I disagree with your spoiler by the way.

You can only make around 185 mil a week by selling cash shop items. There's a limit of 5 a week. So if you sold nothing put premium outfits, you get the number I stated (roughly, this isn't including market tax.)

You have to put 40$ in to get one premium outfit since they're 34$. So you have to spend about 200$ a week to sell cash shop items.

A TET boss is around 1.2 billion silver depending on the item. Not even in a month would you really be able to buy a TET boss as you'd make around 740 million. 800$ a month to not even get what you want? I doubt most people sell items solely to make money. They probably do it when they need that little extra. Otherwise why the hell would people sell pets and value packs because they are not profitable at ALL.

EDIT: Note, this is for NA/EU. I know some other regions do not have a pearl shop limit and yes, you could p2w the hell out of those. I know there was someone on the MENA version that spent $5k to get about 6 bil.

You'd have to spend thousands to get some quality equipment through real money.
I get where you're going, but to actually make a difference, paying even a couple hundred won't even get you 1 piece of armor worth fighting with.

Oh and don't worry, we only remove posts when they break rules. Opinions are not against the rules, even when negative towards the game.

He should probably take a look at my roughly estimated math above.
800$ a month still wouldn't get a single TET boss.

whitout pets ( 5 pets in total = 50$, 10$ each or wait maybe 1 or 2 months for dailys rewards for get 2 pet) you are going to need to loot toushand or times, considering that in high levels you are going to kill monsters in a pack of 7 easy every 4 seconds or less.

this game whitout pets = no game just avoid it or you are going to pass more time looting than playing.

So you WANT to be able to pay2win?
You do realize you can make money from you know, actually playing the game more than you could selling things, right?

Leveling is pretty straightforward and you don't need TET Boss gear just to explore new areas. So work at your pace and explore the areas you feel comfortable and you'll move right along.

A lot of people say to have a decent experience, AT THE VERY LEAST you need to spend an additional $10 on a pet post purchasing the game.

I got the game on sale for $5. On day 2 of loggin on they gave me a Kuku pet. So far im only $5 sunk into this game, bearly touched combat since ive been so distracted by life skills.

literally 12 hurs go by on a weekend and im like wtf happened? I just played BDO the entire day? I've owned the game roughly just over a week and already have 100h into the game without spending a penny post the base price of $5. Totally worth it. Extremly satisfied and even if i were to stop playing now I would easily say I enjoyed my time on BDO.

- I've cooked a lot
- Discovered my own recipies
- Grown wheat and made my own beer
- Fished
- Traded between cities
- Set up workers to gather stuff
- Crafted my own repairable Balenos fishing rod
- Purchased and furnished TWO houses with crafted, farmed and vendered gear
- Trained my donkey

On the other hand, ive only scratched the surface of what this game offers so I wont be stopping anytime soon!

The OP wanted to know if it was possible for them to pay2win end-game gear. I don't really think they were asking about how much money they have to put in to have a joyful experience, at least that is what i got from this post of their's:
