One, BDO is a solo players dream of an MMO.
As for BDO end game, unlike many other MMO’s, BDO lets the player decide what they want their end game to be. You can also change your end game at any time and do whatever you want. You do not progress to a point and start hanging around with others high level like you chit-chatting and deciding to do this or that dungeon run.
01) You can grind and grind and grind monsters to no end and always gain experience for the next level up. Levels from 1 to 61 happen fast in BDO, but after level 61 the level progression moves slower than molasses in winter. You still gain experience and still level up, but it becomes very slow.
02) RNG can be a headache for many players, but if you have good self-control and not try to do things on gut feelings, the RNG is not that bad.
03) Gear progression has multiple routes. RNG is the most prominent, but unlike other MMO’s that only give you one way to gear progress, BDO gives the players multiple different ways to gear progress.
04) BDO offers players things they can do even if they are high level. They are not stuck standing there waiting to do a group dungeon run or waiting for the next day, so they can do daily quests to get a few more MATS for gear upgrade. You can still grind to gain silver. You can life skill to gain silver. You can life skill to gain MATS.
05) Unending life skill options are open to you that do offer great returns the better you get at them. Sailing, Fishing, Gathering, Hunting, Mount Training, Processing, Cooking, and Alchemy. Some players do not do anything else in BDO because you can even do this for years and years.
06) There is a storyline and questing in BDO. The storyline is not linear. It is more like bunches of stories all throughout the world of BDO. Of individuals, races, counties, and a war that happened long ago that affected them all. It is up to you the player to actually read the dialog or click quickly through it. If you do choose to read the dialogs you can see how one county is affected versus another, you can see the how and why differences. But you the player will have to mentally piece it together. Because again, the story is not linear.
07) BDO is open world PvP and you can get PK’d (player killed) by other players once you choose to level to 50th level or higher. BUT, Pearl Abyss is listening to their players and is starting to implement timed safe zone grinding in areas. (You can get one hour a day in Marni Secret Room without worry of PK). You can still get PK’d when you are traveling to and from those areas. Other than personal psychological annoyance. You do not loose anything, other than trade goods, if you are PK’d.
08) You can always progress in what you want to do in BDO, even if you are high level. You are never stuck standing around waiting for the next day to do dailies.
09) Levels 1 through 56 will be super easy. It is setup this way on purpose to give you a good feel on if you like your character or other things you may want to change. Things become harder after level 56.
10) The storyline bosses are super easy. They are like that on purpose, but don’t let that fool you. EXAMPLE: There is the Storyline boss “Red Nose” and there is the Field boss “Red Nose”. One is much harder to defeat than the other. Storyline bosses are easy. World, Field, Rift, and Arena Bosses are much more difficult.
11) There are some Champion / Hero mini-bosses in BDO. They will present a greater challenge to you if you happen to run into them.
12) The UI in BDO is not user friendly. It will be totally up to you to search the web, watch videos, or ask other players on Steam or other forums for help in editing and understanding it.
13) The quest pathing from point A to B is not always the most optimal path to take. If you later see you might be doing a particular function often. Learn and take your own optimal path.
14) The end destination given for some quests in not always the exact location. Sometimes the end path will put you in the general area. You might need to circle out a bit to find where you need to be or go under water a bit or find a hidden cave. Sometimes the end path will not show. It only shows the quest start. Look on your main map. It will usually show you quest icons of where you need to go. Where you need to go could be multiple locations.
Well, I’ll stop there. Hopefully it wasn’t to much and make your eyes glaze over. 😊
Speak for your self
cant handle the truth? lol
if you want theme park hamsterwheel endgame loops like in lost ark
(and OP and others seems to want that)
then what ICantSee says is true
if you want a hamsterwheel you should not be here
Some people prefer BDO, I found Lost Ark boring.
No clue why everyone is so obsessed with bashing 1 game when they are insecure about the quality of there own.
Let people play what they want to play, the question was does BDO have PVE not should I play Lost Ark, maybe the person in question already did and did not like it, its not that hard to figure the existence of the game since its at the top of the Steam charts.
BDO does have PVE but not in the traditional sense since its a Sandbox MMO and not a theme park MMO.
There is no real end-game; just continuous grinding and endless events every week, etc., the adventure never ends. Ultimately, characters can level up to level 99. Developers seem to focus on this by continuing to add new zones to grind each year. Maybe once we get closer to Lvl. 99 there will be a real end-game.
They also take this 100th year anniversary very seriously. Something most people must've forgotten about by now.
Rng in bdo is the worst (i mean in end game content): drops or gear. You can't do anything about it, you can do everything right and will still fail at your task. I mean, i don't mind stuff being hard or failing a few times. But when you spend thousands of hours doing something with no result when at same time someone does it in 10h. i believe there is something wrong.
And i agree that you have many possible things to do (that is the strongest point od bdo). As a fresh player, you will never tun out of things to do even if some content is unplayable due to lack of players: horse racing as an example or dungeons. Yes, there is no queue system so you rely on party finder and once in with pick ups, it's either, you roll on everything like when you grind or some players ♥♥♥♥ it up and quit leaving you stuck.
for older players, there is always things to do, but relies on a specific goal, there's no fun in lifeskilling, breeding (did you ever get a T8 courser or a decent T9 without coupons?), fishing, sailing, etc. It's fun when you do them a few times discovering the process, after... meh. and it's not even decent silver compared to grinding (even low zones).
Play the game at your own pace Jamagotchi, there is no real endgame.the game has no end: PVP people will flex their PEN deboreka, lifeskillers their PEN manos necklace, etc
Don't try to compare yourself to others and you'll be ok.
if you want to rush something, do it, you'll get something else to do after. And in the meantime, you may be doing that for thousands of hours. Or do several things here and there.
