You are doing the right thing though; melting down Black Stones into Beginner Black Stones to acquire more. In this situation it's also recommended using Advice of Valks (only +10 ones), and Cron Stones (1) to help your enhancement chances along the way.
It's worth noting that this is basically the only situation where using Cron Stones and Advice of Valks is recommended for enhancing naru equipment. Yes, it will cost you more silver, but we're not talking Billions of silver here, so don't be worried at all. It's still a trivial expense in the larger scheme of things. And you are far better off doing things this way than trying to enhance a Tuvala from scratch.
Best of luck for the future!
If you fail 3 times in a row while having a good failstack in place, just stop. Don't bother enhancing anymore. The number generator is stuck in giving the worst possible outcome and it would be better for you to come back to it at some other time.
I once had a failstack that gave me a 72 chance of success and it failed 5 times in a row. That is bad, very bad, and I should have stopped at 3 times. Luckily I stopped at 5 failures, saved the failstack, and tried again on a different day. The next time I tried I failed 2 times and finally popped a success on the third attempt. This all with a 72 chance of success.
Some days you get some real bad RNG. Walk away (do something else in the game) when that starts happening. 😊
(i just spamclicked with no thoughts given tho)
this way you rise your chances and will waste less stones.
also before doing this go to Tarif and complete quest for Naderr Band. it is important as it gives you free storage for unused failstack. say you used advice of Valks +10 on TET gloves but it failed and now you have big failstack and TRI gloves. you save this failstack to naderr band and use it once you bring your gloves back to TET.
@Reverielle i have seen from guides to save cron and advice of valks for tuvala and higher gear so i wanted to save them but in my case i could have used them. I am not sure if melting blackstones was a good idea, it didnt help much and perhaps i could have used them to upgrade other gear? Do they work with fishing rods, macthlocks and horse gear?
@Tsel13 I dont know people kept telling me that failstack was the way to go, im sorry you had a similar experience, in my case any percentage lower than %68 chance failed %100 of the time... SOMEHOW. So its pri to tet and back to pri constantly, i also ruined the gun and had to work the remaining stones to recover durability. Did not want to use memory fragmants for this low gear. Are you sure RNG gets better if i leave ? Everyone else adamant about failstacks?
@kitty do you know the name of the quest? Or should i find him with NPC search?
https://bdocodex.com/us/quest/21417/1/
also if you're seriously out of stones then complete Fughar timepiece quest on new character, use simplified main quest to get all rewards (stones mainly). carefully craft and upgrade from stones you have. if you completed Mediah you will get all beginner stones at once, if not, you will need to complete that quest line.
melting black stones is like throwing away 140k with every stone, don't do that. you can use them for cheap failstacks (+10 +15) on higher grade gear
When it comes to TRI, TET, and PEN. That comes down to you choosing to use Cron Stones or not. You are playing the game not others playing for you. It is not their failstacks and Cron Stones. It is your failstacks and Cron Stones. Use them if you want to hedge your bets, because that is what RNG is.... Gambling. Think ahead and know what your good and bad outcome costs are. Gamble wisely and don't get click happy or else you will lose everything. 😊
Generally, yes you are right. It's commonly perceived as best just to base enhance (no Advice of Valks, no Crons) Naru until you have a full set of PEN equipment (minus accessory) due to the relatively high chance of success they have and the volume of Beginner stones you're given. However, IF you run out of Beginner Black Stones with no chance of receiving any more from level-up boxes or quests, then it is by far the smartest to use some Cron and Advice of Valks to help your enhancing.
Black Stones are used for all sorts of things in the game. However if you've run out of Beginner Black Stones, as said above, the only sensible way to get more is to process Black Stones (Don't go making a new character etc etc to get more, that's just a huge waste of your time). You have no real other choice. It's is by far the easiest, simplest and best option when in your situation to do as was stated above. You're not the first to have this happen to them, you won't be the last, but the advice has always been the same.
Re Naders Band: it is very helpful. Open your Quests <O> and go to the Suggested Tab, there you will find the Naderr's Questline "[lv. 58] Naderr's Band". It has a pre-requisite of requiring your character to be over level 58.
but im done with Valencia 1 Questline and All my Tuvala gears are already Pen along with accesories. I still have 500 begginner weapon stones and 900 armor stones along with left over time filled black stones and tuvala ores. I just followed some basic guides and made my own decisions along the way whether to enhance tuvala tet to pen using 30 failstacks lol.
I know its kinda hard to enhance season armors/weapons like tuvala, just imagine how difficult it is to enhance boss gears
I'm so happy we're getting Narchillan just by exchanging pen naru on normal char. that's so much easier and needs no failstacks.
Who doesn't hate this enchant system that's outdated?
