Pets and value packs are harder because a lot of people want them and they are not restricted by class.
But think of it this way: 1 person wins each item that's posted. Everybody else who bids doesn't win.
You are totally right! The market place bidding system is dumb as hell. It’s RNG no matter what you do.
pets and value packs on the other hand..
I recently just sniped the Crown Eagle costume, and I DEEPLY regret winning it, LOL because my main character looks whacked in it. It's also poorly modelled, realized it once I started customizing the colors. I only bid for it as I did not expect to snipe it, after so many failed attempts.
So far I've sniped three costume sets, and about nine 30-day Value packs, and I've just started playing this game on Steam when it launched.
Don't be discouraged though when you see some folks with 10 plus costumes sniped, they've been playing for a very, very long time. : )
It may improve your chances of sniping what you're after if you purchase the Marketplace Maid, so you don't have run back to a city when you see your alerts.
