Karma Penalties Infos please

hey guys,

so im confused about what the consequences of having negative karma are as it seems many things have been changed over past year and alot of the infos on that topic are outdated.

If u always followed the patchnotes and maybe have some experience yourself please explain to me what can happen to me when i have negative karma and

1. die to a player outside of desert
2. die to a player inside of desert (i assume i only get send to jail for a while)
3. die to a mob outside of desert
4. die to a mob inside of desert

Also I notice that when im inside the desert and I kill a couple of players I get a icon next to my name which is like a bloodsplash with a cross above it. what does it mean? is it some kind of debuff?

1.- Crystals will break and you will lose 1% exp
2.- You will be sent to prison and thats it
3.-Your gear has a chance to degrade, crystals will break and you will lose exp.
4.-Same as 3
Both PVE deaths only add your gear degrading as a neg karma thing, the other 2 (Crystals/Exp) are a normal pve death punishment.
Also, if you kill anyone in the desert, if you get killed with the symbol next to your name, you will be sent to prison aswell.

Thanks for the information. Really appreciate it! Now I can walk around and dont worry about players death anymore. I was only worried about players and I can live to lose some exp.

Another question. Does gear degrading only affect weapons and armor or also accessories?

emmmm...im quite new to the game but why are we sent to a prison? And is PVP really forced after a certain level? I like the game but i never liked PVP in MMORPG, can i avoid pvp ?

The PvP in this game is really good. But yes you can avoid PvP. Nobody is going to kill you except at grind spots if they want the rotation. But most people ask to leave or group up first though.

Unfortunately, not all player are that kind and ask you to leave, some individuals just outright kill you.
Fortunately for me my gear is kinda decent and I always carry enough pots to heal myself.^^

^ the first part is no where near what happens, it doesnt matter if you are -1mil karma or just barely enough to people to hit you, if you die red, you only lose exp and crystals but i swear i saw those points as suggestions people wanted red players to suffer.

Those penalties are outdated which is why i made this thread to ask for the most recent information. If it was as easy as looking up infos on wiki i wouldnt be asking here.
