Rendering Walls
I don’t know what to call it per se, but I call it a rendering wall.
Have any of you had the in-game issue where you’re riding your horse and ahead of you is an area not rendered yet? What happens to me it’s like hitting a solid wall. You basically, gallop in the middle of the road not moving. You have to stop your horse before the area finally renders and you can move on.

I know I’m using a lower end PC for todays standards and I suspect that is the culprit. But I ask you all if you might know a tweak or something that might fix this?

Yes, I know the answer, get a new computer and a new 144Hz monitor. But I was wondering if you knew something else.

Thank you in advance. 😊

On my older PC even in the most optimal settings, I would still get those walls. Only thing that would change it was a slower horse (and of course, after I upgraded I stopped having the issue).

With that out of the way, what are your specs currently and what settings do you run?

its just server loading lag
i run a beast of a rig and with a max lvl 8 corsair i can still encounter this issue riding past citys with boat loads of people

In worst case you go into a loading screen

I think it would be worth your while to search the Seagate website for a test utility for your HDD. Then of course test your HDD with it.

Happened to me quite a lot when going full speed on high-tier horse - especially when running through places like Altinova. The game would act like I had bumped into invisible people - forcing me to run on the spot.

GeForce GTX 1080 || Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6850K CPU || 3.60GHz (12 CPUs) || 32gb RAM || High speed and dedicated drives for installation/playing so that said computer isn't affected as much.

Methinks it's just for those people breaking the render-barrier, seeing as we can't really break the speed-barrier. Considering the size of the world, which has no instances to speak of, not to mention the graphics in general, it's no surprise that there are some hiccups. Ironically, I find that less annoying than how everything is always 'popping' into view while you're running.

Look into buying a cheap SSD for the game. You may be able to find second-hand or older SATA SSD's with 128GB or less capacity which you can install the game on.

It's an easy addition, plug it in and mount it as a new drive. Then copy or use Steam's game move feature to put it there.

With new consoles finally getting SSD's you really don't want to be left behind on traditional hard drives.

The way these servers work is that it passes you off to another server in safe zones. This way you can have more people in one world but sometimes those servers take time to render and that's why the horse is slowed or stopped while it passes you off and renders everything.

I'm temporarily playing on a potato pc with windows 7 and a 1050 geforce potato card that give me 30 fps. I get loading screens all day and I switch servers when my character stops every 5 m it runs. Never had any issues with the game prior to the switch over to new ownership. After that, the game blows.
