Would anybody be willing to meet and sell me a pearl sorceress Karlstein hood for silver? I'm very new and I have a 14 day Karlstein outfit, but I just want the hood permanently. I would be willing to pay in like all of my silver, like 50 mil.

There is no personal trade for market items, your only recourse is to place a buy order on the cartel market and wait for it to be filled.

Thank you very much! That being said, would anybody be willing to meet on a server and coordinate a market trade with me? I've had an order in for the past 6 days for a Karlstein hood at the highest available order price with no luck so far

If there are other people with preorders on, you can't coordinate a trade. The market is region-wide so there's no server hopping to find an empty preorder either.
The system is designed explicitly to prevent people directly controlling who gets the item to prevent silver selling.

You could go do the Karlstein questline and gather the stuff to craft the outfit yourself... It's generally considered a terrible idea because one of the items you need (Intricately Patterned Mystical Shard) are a very infrequent drop and you need so many of them.

Yes, as Daggoth has written, those Intricately Patterned Mystical Shards are very rare. You'll need 14 of them to craft the Hood. I've been grinding for about a year now and I have 3 of them. So, I'm either very unlucky or yes, they are extremely rare drops.

You get 4 free minor outfits completing the main questline in areas: Balenos, Serendia, Calpheon, and Mediah. The Hercules outfit has a hood.

I'm lvl 53, on "the disappearance of Nella" and of the upcoming quests in the story, I only see Mediah. I think I finished Calpheon because I have a beginners soldier chest armor piece, and also two 4 piece sets of (Honor) Dobart armor, one of them isn't bound to me because I haven't worn it yet, but it doesn't seem to change my appearance, ergo be for a sorcerer... So did I mess anything up as far as recieving these 4 free costume sets?

One of the sets is a random set. You’ll have to spin the RNG wheel and you get what you get. The next two you choose. You’ll be able to choose from 3 minor outfit choices. If you end up just clicking and not paying attention, you’ll get the same minor outfit each time. Or you’ll end up doubling up on one of the outfits. Once you’ve chosen there is no going back. Your only other option is to play different characters and trade the unbound outfits between them. The Mediah outfit is way later in the main questline.
