Every name is already taken

I have literally used over 5 different name generators and tried hundreds of names and every single one of them is "in use." I just want to have a decent name and play the game already, I have spent hours trying to get a name.

Yeah it's ridiculous. Last I heard, every name had to be unique amongst both Family and Character names, as well as not matching NPC names and whatever other reserved words they have.

So if someone has "John Smith", you can't have "Smith NWesson" because Smith is already taken, even though they're using it as a family name and you want it as a first name.

First make sure you're meeting the name requirements:

Otherwise it's an art. Use compound words, homophones, letter substitution, a weird gamer name with the x's and such, etc.
You rarely see people with 'proper' names in game.

must be hard wanting to actually name urself KujoJotaro in a popular online games thats been out for 5+years

I usually go Firstname_Last name. The _ makes naming easy.

They are going to delete unused accounts after the transfer maybe the name you want might become available. I was able to get the family name I wanted, but most of my character names end with a X or something lol. Doesn't really matter to me though since when you type in game it shows your family name in chat.

Imagine assuming that I only tried to use movie, show, or anime names. I literally was on multiple random name generators and couldnt use any of them

Yeah thats kinda all mmo's tbh though nothing unigue about that problem, just get creative like my Guardian has the name Gauthildur, eventually something works

I really do not understand why they made both the name and the family name unique. It just doesn't make any sense. When I started playing last year it took me about an hour to name the characters and I ended up with some completely stupid names.
