Let me Dye
I am a returning player and was really enjoying my experience and was wondering why I left such a clever game.
That was until I remembered how you hold hostage with the Dye packs and limiting how their characters look unless they spend ridiculous money.

I have spent good money on this game and have no problem supporting it and it's development but holding someone's character's appearance at ransom unless they pay is appalling business.
It's not only a shameless money grab but also kills emersion.

I'm not going to spend more money (not on rng dye packs anyway) which leaves me unhappy with the "I really Don't like the way my character looks", so lose interest, and then stop playing.

Please sort this out, it's an ongoing issue which many of you fanbase have complained about, (I Googled it) and I know for a fact others have stopped playing as a direct result.
The people who don't care and not spending the money.

You are losing paying customers.
Even if it's just letting the colours selected during the Merv pack stay permanent, and players need to buy another to change colours.

This ongoing money grab so people can customise their look is terrible business.

For the love of God change it.

Buy the value pack with loyaty points and paint away for a whole day.

Are you serious?
One whole day...

What a joke.

The point is not playing with paint for a day, it's creating an avatar that you enjoy.

It's a clever and fun game, but this just destroys it for me.
So many other amazing games to play.
I'll check back in another year maybe you'll have it sorted.

What does it matter if your clothes are black or bright pink?
You dont play the game to look at the color of your clothes.

Are you suggesting you would play this game just for the sake of painting your armor?

What I mean with what I said is that it doesn't take away anything from the experience of the game to have base colors on clothes.

P.S.
I am not saying it isn't a stupid system how you have to buy a "random" color and then use it once and then rebuy it e.t.c. It is clearly a messed up money-grabbing way.
What bugged me with the OP post was that they seem to think it takes away their experience of the game, or their immersion, when that doesn't really affect the gameplay at all, or story.

As much as I agree with you, BDO only holds for a huge amount of people because of the looks and anime shines; half mechanics are afks and singleplayer, small other is based on a rng walled gearing system. At least right now.

Its a shame bcause the world has huge potential even if story is awful

I agree with that.
I wouldn't mind a differetn way to get dye, even if it would be something like buying it for a lot of silver in game rather than acoin, at least then you could use it but still had to work for the money to buy it. Or something.

I still don't think it takes away any part of the game to not be able to change my white costume into blue e.t.c.

It is a lot worse with what you said, the rng in leveling gear.

how things look is basically one of the fundamentals in a roleplay video game. yes it affects player experience. yes it takes something away from the game experience to only have the default colors on clothes without the choice to change them while those with a value pack can. saying otherwise is utter nonsense

No you are wrong, being pink or have the default color doesn't change the gameplay.

it affects how a player perceives and experiences the game. colors aren't non-existing things. as for the gameplay it's the same thing. you won't perform the same actions, have the same interactions with people nor have the same opportunities between one look and a different one. "gameplay" isn't all there is to it, "gameplay" is more than mere damage or speed calculations. in horror games people get scared and lose because something visual or some sound induced it. they weren't like "oh it's a huge monster popping on my screen and yelling at me and chasing me in this narrow dark area i have no idea how to get from but it doesn't matter at all because i doesn't change the gameplay lol". saying that visuals don't affect gameplay is stupid. visuals are a part of the gameplay

Honestly you sound like the type of gamer who doesn't play a game because it's a black character or an asian character, having a blue axe or a default colored axe won't change your gameplay. In the end you just don't want to spend cash to buy dye or to buy a value pack, since it's only cosmetics it's normal that it's locked behind the cash shop. Devs need to make money and if you can obtain dye with silver then you'll ask costumes being able to be purchasable with silver without using the marketplace because you want to change outfits every day to RP.......

So for now: Buying dye with silver is a very bad idea, unless it's a dye that cost 500 million silver wich last 1 day or something, so if you have a better option go ahead and tell the devs.
Chad Thundercock Mar 18, 2021 @ 6:58pm
Sadly they won't change their ways with how they charge dumb amounts of money for cosmetics, I heard a bit ago that one player spent upwards of 10k if not more
Nazara Mar 18, 2021 @ 7:16pm
Players have been complaining for years now and devs said it will remain unchanged since they have more players buying value packs and dyes then players that do not.

I'm not sure if that's true, but if most players felt the same way you do and spoke with their wallets, I'm sure dyes would've changed by now instead of staying the way they are.

Don't bother these sheep will argue you to death for their right to be taken advantage of & look subpar, stockholm syndrome 101.

the dye packs dont even work, spent 1,000 loyalties on them before they disapeared from the store and they just vanished when i used them. the game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥. its insane to charge a subscription for dyeing a costume.

You realize the only way people can be level 0 after buying this game is by settings as in private settings on their steam accounts.
