How much time and in game money did it take you to get all those tri level gear that you were going to need to fail to build your failstack? See the issue yet? No matter how you look at it you are in fact buying PEN gear even if you use the enchantment system. The only difference really is that buying it outright saves you a bit of time thanks to not needing to waste time buying useless ♥♥♥♥ you are going to destroy and even more time building the failstack.
The biggest issue with this game is that developers fail to understand that people will in fact play a good game thousands of hours that is built to be fun. You don't need to make your game painful in order to keep players around and spending money.
upgrades and whatever you are complaining about is hardly anything I care about.
I haven't ever had trouble building fail stacks, and in fact I make money doing it.
So how many people do think quit the game just over the enchantment system alone? You have players out there that just buy PEN because they absolutely detest the enchantment system, which like it or not should never be a belief among a player base. Once people start to avoid key features of your game or quit your game because of it chances are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up badly. The thing is the developers ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up entirely on purpose as they saw it as a means to make money.
It's been basically 5 months I have stopped BDO entirely. I am still on my guilds discord, they are all hardcap 320+ AP 430 DP etc....
They "GG" their enhancement progress and stuff...
Frankly spoken, I couldn' care less because in order to get all this ♥♥♥♥ you have to shut down your brain and a part of your life entirely and leave your pc on while using your CC card.
With new gear and so called new updates (a freaking lie) the grind becomes worse and worse, longer, harder, prices on the MP are skyrocketing like the actual IRL crysis.
And most of all, the game still didn't change, it's the same old afk, grinder , and pvp gear carried "Bullsheet".
It's not only the enhancement system, it's just the fact that BDO never changed in it's core since 2016. Smart people quit this Madhouse, stupid people or gambling addicts, stay their whole life on BDO....
Why do you engage with the community if you hate it so much? Sure the other stuff is nice and all, but you're still entangled with it.
On the other stuff, the grind is literally the shortest it has ever been, and is on track to get even shorter with the upcoming god gloves replacing c20 for final bracket options. Lifeskills are making over a billion an hour, grinding is making the same, leveling up has built-in triple or quadruple speed boosts with artifacts/merc scrolls. How exactly is any of that, the crystal reworks or the Kamasylvia reworks not change?
or
Gather(popping pots constantly) for like 4-5h and semi-AFK cook(weight limit and all that bs) for the rest of 10h for 5b/day ... ofc you need to gather all the ingredients yourself (worker empire for nodes) to make this profit and that means you need to have at least 192 storage spaces in almost every city and as a player that doesn't want to swipe their card to purchase those slots then good luck
And the most braindead activity and the most rewarding in silver/h is and will always be Grinding....
The game is all look no depth, it's shallow and boring once you get to the grind part.
This game is so much wasted potential it almost makes me angry
A bulk alchemy setup makes returns greater than all you just listed, and you can max storage spaces in multiple towns for free with a couple days of questing for cp, not sure how swiping does anything other than save you a few hours of running around. Of course with cooking and alchemy in mind people don’t share the recipes because if they do and word gets out the margins drop horribly, so it’s not exactly reliable to spam the same dish and it does take some effort. The ‘you gather for 8 hours to make a bil in an hour’ is incorrect in modern bdo, the saying no longer applies. Gather for 8 hours make 8 bil is how it is now. Also on the topic of tet manos for returns, it’s really not that hard to get enough money for it these days. Grind or life skill for a couple months and you’re at that level. (Literally doing centaurs with the right class on season gear gives you 800+m an hour, and that’s not even the best money for that gear.) lifeskill and grind gear require a month or two investment to make a bil reliably, but it’s not that hard and let’s stop pretending it is.
Idk la orzeka is pretty cool and farmable. Atoraxia is a dungeon (possibly more coming in the future.) not sure what actual exploration is other than no man’s sky or something. Calling the game shallow and boring while also saying PVP is a oneshot fest highlights the depth you’re not seeing. I am an avid pvper playing an actual paper class (dk), and there is no such thing as oneshot PVP, unless you’re fighting hardcapped players in season gear or being hit by a bsr, and even then exceptions can and do apply.
I do not PvP, so I cannot comment on it.
I am also, writing from a casual players view that usually only plays an hour or two a day.
I’m a player that can play hour or two a day.
Some days only a half hour. Other very rare days four hours.
I do have to say, if you don’t like PvE grinding a whole lot, then BDO might not be for you.
If you don’t like spending hours life skilling, then BDO might not be for you.
The key, is you must spend time building up your character, mainly one character, to get to top-tier gear.
It is like an RPG. RPG’s always have you spend time building up your character.
But this is an MMO.
You cannot have your player base instantly build up characters like what is done in a single player game.
If MMO’s did that, then tons of players would be at the top and just stand around in some area doing nothing but chit-chatting.
BDO, is brutal with its enhancing system.
However, I mainly play Korean types of MMO’s and BDO is by far the most forgiving of them with its current enhancement system.
Most Korean style MMO’s only give one path of attaining top-tier gear.
BDO offers several paths to getting that gear.
01) You can enhance it yourself. Yes, this can be truly brutal at times. RNG in all electronic software games is not statistically true, like it is in a real-life gambling house. I have seen 72% success rates and higher fail way too many times, defying the true odds. But, as I wrote, this is true for ALL electronic software games. Not just BDO.
02) You can buy what you want from the Central Market. As I wrote, if you don’t like grinding or life skilling for hours, then this is not for you.
03) You can, one time per family, get your PEN gear via the Guaranteed PEN Boss Gear event. This will allow you to Guarantee PEN one piece of each. Helmet, Armor, Gloves, Boots, Main Weapon, Awaken Weapon, Sub-Weapon. Again, if you don’t like grinding or life skilling for hours, then this is not for you.
04) You can add caphras to the gear, eventually achieving a Guaranteed PEN as well. And again, if you don’t like grinding or life skilling for hours, then this is not for you.
BDO offers more than one path to enhance your gear. But, if you don’t like grinding or life skilling for hours, then BDO is not for you.
I like grinding and life skilling. I play polar opposite characters. One my grinder, the other my life skiller. When I tire of playing one, I play the other.
You do not have to spend real life money to get Cron Stones from buying outfits and extracting them through a blacksmith. You can buy Cron Stones directly from a Blacksmith. Yes, they do cost 2 million silver each, but after graduating one character from one season, you can easily make 1 billion plus silver a week. That is 150 million silver a day for seven days. Grinding or life skilling 1 to 2 hours a day. That will buy you 500 Cron Stones a week.
If you are a casual player, forget about all of the min/max’ing. Forget about the silver costs. It is ALL FREE Silver. The only cost is a couple of hours a day. Not your whole life a day. Stop thinking things need to be instant like in Single Player Games. Kickback, do an hour, and call it a day.
The Season, does help players a lot.
What it does, is helps players get to (mid) mid-tier to (mid) high-tier PvE grind areas.
These areas provide more trash loot silver per hour.
It also enables them to grind in an area for more than an hour without worrying about DFS (PvP defense for spot).
The Seasonal Servers not only drop the regular trash loot and drops, but they also drop Tuvala Ore, Time-filled Black Stones, and Refined Magical Black Stones. After you have upgraded all of your gear to PEN you can sell these. I have made a couple of billion silver easy selling these alone. But again, if you don’t like grinding or life skilling for hours, then BDO is not for you.
I have bought a few things in BDO, primarily outfits and dyes for character eye candy. This is typical for all MMO’s. I have bought two items for PvE convenience, but was not necessary at all. That was a me thing than a ‘the game force me thing’.
Yes, because I am a solo casual player, that belongs to No Guild, it has taken me almost 2 real life years to get my main character gear that is 273/278/347. Keep in mind, that I also, life skill with a different character, so only half of that two years was devoted to my main grinder. I also, sometimes play my ALT’s just for a change of pace, so that one year, to my main, is really less than one year. I don’t sweat the small stuff. I don’t worry about min / max. I play an hour or two a day. I get side tracked a lot and just do stuff that doesn’t do anything that helps my main. It’s all casual.
So far, the only things I have had issues with are PA official webpages for NA not necessarily having all of the pertinent information. But the communication has always been with a kind heart when I put in my support tickets or steam posts.
As what was written several times in this post.
If you don’t like grinding or life skilling for hours, then BDO is not for you.
I like doing both. 😊
That’s simply inexperience with the spot, it’s not as good without experience. I personally can hit over 30k there on season gear with a zerker, but I have a friend exceeding 40k with him on the same class, I’m just poor at the spot myself so I give a low figure. Numbers like that take practice to achieve, but are quite possible. (Which pretty much sums up grinding in bdo entirely, but hey, we’re talking about centaurs.)
