Black Desert

Worth playing f2p?
I just need to clear some hard drive space and I just wanna know if this game will be worth more of my time cause I don't want to end up getting invested into the game just to end up with a grinding-only-at-this-point game like in Warframe

It's worth it as long as you not trying to get into the PvP. But to get into PvP in this game will cost you a large sum or $$$ and Time.

Also you will be harassed by players who've spent loads of cash and time on the game. Because there is open world forced PvP. And some of the vets get great enjoyment at making others miserable.

As long as you don't mind all that. Than yes BDO is worth getting into as a F2Per.

you will have to grind alot and the only " endgame " is to grind more and more.

I wouldn't waste the time, i wasted over 900+ hours on this trash heap of a wannabe mmorpg.

If you bought it, go through the quest line and do exploring. Best part of the game. Lots and lots of areas to explore. If you like life skilling you'll have a blast too.

Third, Ive played many mmorpg's over the years and the gearing system in this is probably one of the worst, Im playing pso2 and im pretty hooked, the questing and combat in bdo was fun as F but gearing is atrociously bad.

Ight then gonna delete it to clear some space on my hard drive. I dont want to get into it like I did with warframe and then realize my mistake

listen to some random ppl that stopped playing the game yet for some godonlyknows reason stick around the bdo forums and tell ppl to never play it

I stopped actively playing a long while ago but I poke my head on and mess around now and then. I think the game has a lot to offer but I can't afford the grind time. The Asian market is much more tolerant and into the grind and it's showcased in this game. Maybe one day they'll tone it down a little for the western market because when I did have time I felt like the action combat was some of the best implementation I'd seen, the visuals are undoubtedly quite good, and as others have mentioned there are life skill endeavors that can be enjoyable. I quite liked the fishing.

I enjoy it. I been f2p for long time now. If you are going to be competitive or be "number 1" prepare to dump a huge deal of real money.

The truth is, this isn't an mmorpg. Yeah there's many players online but you don't ever interact with them. This is a single player game.

I only bought this game because it costed me $10 and I was bored one day. I made it to level 35 and I'm already done with it. Also, idk if this is just on my end, but the game is blurry as hell. I feel like I need a pair of glasses to even see anything

The only thing that is not F2P is the special tent that give buff or repair & doing your own dream horse from scratch to learn all skills.
(you can purchase a dream horse max level with all skill with the game currency if they're posted for sales, but if you want to make your own from, you have to p2w).

The upgrading gear & make a lot of silver silver, can be done without paying more.

As for the catch up mechanic...You have to shed an unrealistic amount, because the buff are in tiny increment, to simply catch up a f2p player who's been playing for a year.

BDO isn't too terribly fun if you don't spend money fairly regularly. It is designed to intentionally force you into using the (lets be honest) predatory cash shop. Going without is made painful as can be.

That said the combat is fun, life skills are neat, and the huge open world is amazing. Not to mention the solid visuals. Problem is outside of that the game is beyond hollow. No real dungeons, bosses are pinatas with big HP pools, etc. It's an ocean with the depth of a puddle. Looks great until you try and dive in.

Not tire at all! It’s an ocean with the depth of a lake 🥴

Even if you pay it's grind heavy. The worst part is that you actually pay to be able to grind even more.

weight pet & weight lead to able to hold far more trash loot. Thus you grind more... So instead of beating mobs for 30min & takes a few breaks... you can grind for hours non-stop. Sure the nearest town or NPC to sell loot is like in less than 30 sec.

Even the value pack allow you to have one more refresh & less parley consumption for bartering, again instead of being able to grind for 3 hours, well you can grind for 5 hours exchanging at the sea.

You can get geared from one time purchase. There's no paywall.

PVP class is unbalanced so even if you have the best in slot gear you'll get owned by a broken meta classes.
