Numbers next to caught fish name
Maomao(18), Skipjack(119),Starfish(8), Clownfish(4)

A guildmate thought it was the number of that species you've caught.
However I've only been playing a week and have not caught 119 skipjack. I've probably caught 120 fish in total of all the species combined. I'm also holding 8 starfish right now and know that I've caught more.

Maybe its weight? But all fish are at 1.00LT

Does it factor into anything?
...like exp gain or a harder WASD mini game? Is there a leaderboard for individual species?

Just curious as a new player.

Heres another question..

When you see a school of fish out in the sea or a large mysterious fish swimming around. Is that an indication of a rich fishing spot?

These schools are small hot spots that is only available for a limited period of time before it despawns
