But... has it gotten better? Sort of.
I started playing this game at the end of 2017 and then took a break from February until October. Gearing has become somewhat easier with the series of events that has run since I've returned, such as the Cliff Weapons quest which gives you a +15 primary weapon, awakened weapon, and sub weapon which are only slightly worse than boss weapons. These coupled with numerous event boxes and associated loot, dailies, and 'compenstation' have made aquiring enhancing items like Black Stones, Mem Frags, Tears, Cron Stones, Valks, ect easier.
However, make no mistake, it's a grind to get truly 'end game' gear but it is less of one than it used to be. This is especially true if you're looking for settling on duo/tri gear, which is far easier to obtain than it was even just earlier this year.
So, take that for what it's worth.
It is easier to get to softcap and above with the above method. It'll cost a lot of in-game silver and luck or cash. Caphras are introduced as well which guarntees advancement but you need a lot.
