What's the deal with Florin?
The other day I found a village called Florin which is a community of Shai's.
I wanted to set up some business there but some things are missing there. Such as storage. I checked and the next one is in Olvia, miles away. No way to hire workers there to unless I go to Olvia.

The Florin itself works more like a node than a village. As I need to invest Contribution points just to make it work. No other settlement works like that. Even places that are smaller.
Why is that?

Personally I use a goblin worker from calpheon to make the everlasting herb crates in florin since goblins have the fastest move speed and I'm making other crates in calpheon anyway so I can pick them all up at once from the storage there.

To answer your question though if I had to guess its just that they don't want to give players that many options for storage space or else why would they ever want to pay for more? That kind of artificial scarcity is what drives cash shops and while it does suck I definitely prefer it to the mandatory monthly fee in so many other MMOs that makes me feel like I have to play even when I don't want to in order to get my moneys worth.

I agree with the artificial scarcity for storage space and inventory, that's real scummy tbh ...

But about the monthly fee forcing you to play ... aren't VP and login bonus/dice the same ? bait and hooks everywhere ... Using the "rewarding" or "punishing" psychology trick ...

Western Guard Camp (yes, it's a town according to the game) wants a word with you. So do Behr, Abun and Kusha, though I presume you haven't been there yet.

Anyways, this seems to be how the developers differentiate minor towns from mid-size and major ones. It's pretty arbitrary, of course, and once you find Old Wisdom Tree with it's decided lack of actual buildings somehow still has storage, it turns out to be bloody stupid from a logic perspective, too.

As for working Florin, I don't think it's really worth it in the long term, but if you're absolutely set on it, using workers from Calpheon will ultimately be more convenient than using ones from Olvia; they're much more useful to reassign to something else down the road.

But how exactly do you assign the workers from one place to another?

Florin is technically apart of Calpheon. When you purchase storage buildings there it is added to Calpheon's storage slots. Maids/Butlers will also access Calpheon storage while standing in Florin. However, storage boxes placed in Florin houses will access Olvia storage probably because the game sees Florin as closer to Olvia distance wise.
