Is bdo safe to download?

I have been hearing about BDO from time to time and have received mixed impressions on the game. I would like to try it myself but someone has stated that the game installs a somewhat invasive anticheat software that may damage my sytem. I have looked up the issue online and have seen reviews stating that the anticheat is not malicious and others claiming the opposite. My question is have any users faced any problems after from the anticheat after installing the game.

Had no problems on my end. People tend to overreact because of paranoia or they just simply don't like anti-cheat in general.

They want it turned off so they can use cheats, my firewall had no problem with xingcode
