However, you have 6 regular character slots, and 3 trial slots so you have some room to try different stuff, even with a long deletion timer.
The trial characters are high level and have enough skill points to try both pre-awakened and awakened setups (no succession yet though, as far as I know)... If you don't know what I mean by awakening, it's just that at level 56 you unlock a questline to get a new type of main weapon and a different set of skills to use.
But getting a trial character as a new player can be a lot to take in, so your mileage may vary.
(and just FYI, you can also save your character customisation settings and apply it to another character later. So if you make a trial character you happen to like the looks of, you can always save it and apply it to your standard one (of the same class) later.)
