Can someone tell me what is with all the unaccepted quests?

looking through the full quest log for the first time since I started playing and what I saw was a crap ton of unaccepted quests. Some took my interest due to the discriptions being story related even though they are not part of the main quest line. The level requirements printed on the title appear to be low so I navigate to where the quests are supposed to start.

The problem is I get there and there Is no quests. I've completed the all the requirements for the all the quests I want to do and turned on all the preffered types and they still are not showing up.
am I doing something wrong?

I'm guessing your problem is that the game doesn't start with all of the quest types being activated for you. In the quest window there's a number of icons on the bottom indicating quest type. You have to activate those manually by clicking on them so you can see and accept those quests.
