I have been doing BDO for a 7 days know but in need to play further know whit game pass.

Yes, the 7 day trial (from DBO directly) is obviously to get you interested. If so, time to buy.

I played for a few days and decide to buy it on Steam. (had my eye on it for a while)
Be aware you will have to make a fresh BDO 'account' to play on Steam.
Slightly annoying having to lose my characters' family/name.
(not sure if there's a way to remedy that)

Theres not a way to remedy it. If you like your charecter I reccommend buying it from the bdo website and not steam. If you do buy it from steam make sure your 7day trial email and steam email arent the same otherwise itll cause a problem with the steam version and can result in not being able to play. Youll have to contact customer support on the bdo website if the email is the same.

Well, I wasn't that attached to it :) I let it pass.

I thought I could delete the character and maybe it would be available again but after I installed the Steam version I then uninstalled the BDO version. (wasn't too sure which to do first)
I've done it now. All good.
(Although the character customisation file was still there, which saved some time. I guess I missed some files during the uninstall)

And also, as you said, I wasn't able to use the same email account, bit annoying but understandable I guess.
