Black Desert Online not working from Steam Link
I put in a ticket with Steam support and they asked me to create a thread on this issue so I'm just going to copy/ paste the reponses I sent them here so everyone can get a gist of what solutions I have tried with no avail to fix this issue. They said that they were able to recreate this issue and are now forwarding it to the developement team for further review. Also that the fix may be out in the next steam beta update, or will at least continue attempting to fix the issue hopefully.

My First Message, May 15, 2018 @ 12:16pm:
Hi, I have owned Black Desert Online for over a month and a half on Steam and since I bought it I have been able to play it from my steam link with no issues until recently. I haven't logged in for a couple weeks or so since playing it when I first purchased it, and binged the game, and found out I am no longer able to control the game from my steam link once I launch it.

First a windows prompt for the anti cheat thing pops up asking me if I want to allow access to it, and of course I give it access from my host computer. Then when I go back to my steam link and when the game is at the main menu I am no longer able to click on anything. Even if I load up the game using my main computer when the steam link is streaming it over to my other room, I cannot access the game using my Steam Link, however I was able to when I purchased this on March 25th.

Also just to add, I have tried all of the basic suggestions that are listed on the steam link FAQ. I also have already contacted Black Desert Online's support about this and they referred me to conatact Steam support about this issue directly. I am including a screenshot of the email they sent me as proof below.

Hi there, I apologize for the delay. What type of controller are you using?
Does the same issue occur without using the Steam Link?
Are you able to bring up the Steam Overlay in a game by pressing the Shift+Tab?
Have you attempted using alternate configurations or templates?

My Second Message, May 16, 2018 @ 8:05pm
Im not currently using a controller to play Black Desert Online from my Steam Link since it has so many buttons that are necessary. I am using a bluetooth keyboard and usb mouse and didnt use to have issues back when I started playing Black Desert Online in March. Also I am unable to access the shift+tab steam overlay using either a controller or a mouse and keyboard from my Steam Link. I have tried using a ps4 controller and changing the the configuration/ template to other user based templates yet still have had no luck.

We are investigating this issue further. As soon as we have more information, we will update your ticket.

Message from Steam Support on May 22, 2018 @ 3:32pm:
We were able to reproduce the same issue in our testing environment and have forwarded your report to the development team for review.
We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We are releasing regular feature updates and fixes via the Steam Client beta, so please be sure to watch for a beta fix announcement.
Once a solution has been announced, opt into the Steam client beta to get the fix.
Also, can you create a thread in the game's forum about the problem?

I hope this helps either shine some light on this issue if anyone else has been troubled by it, or helps expedite the progress Steam support is making on fixing it.

Edit #1: I realized that I should also have posted in this thread what fixes I have tried to date for this issue so I'm going to do my best to remember them off the top of my head since for the most part I did a lot of them on the fly with either some inspiration from reading threads of other issues. This may take a while, but I will post the full list or at least keep updating this thread about the fixes I tried since I did attempt to fix this on my own for roughly a week before deciding to take a break from this.

I tried a various multitude of simple fixes to see if any of them would allow me to access the game via my steam link so the formatting may get a little wonky, but I will try my best to keep it as straight forward and simple as possible. Many of these fixes may seem very similar to each other, but basically I was attempting to do everything I could to see if one or two slight changes made a difference or not.

Attempted Fix#1:
1. Starting steam in administrative mode from the host computer.
2. Launching big picture mode from the host computer.
3. Staring the Steam Link and connecting to the host computer.
4. Launching BDO via Steam Link
5. Recieving an Admin prompt to allow access to BDO's anti cheat
6. Accepting it on host computer
7.Game Launches and now unable to use my mouse connected to my steam link to access the menu

Variation #1 from fix#1:
8. From host computer, login to a character
9. Once in game, attempt to access game via keyboard or controller which was hooked up to steam link
10. No response

Attempted Fix#2
1. Starting steam in administrative mode from the host computer.
2. Launching BDO in the normal windowed mode of steam
3. Once in game, attempting to launch the steam link and connect to BDO that way
4. Unable to access game via mouse or controller emulating mouse in main menu
5. Use host computer to login to a character and attempt to use steam link to control character or get any response from steam link.
6. Still no response.

Variation #1 from fix #2:
3.Login to a server and character from host computer
4. Once in game, launch steam link
5. Select BDO from big picture mode and launch it so steam sends you over to the already launched game
6. Still no responses even though host computer can play the game with no issues.

Variation #2 from fix#2:
3. Launch Steam link and then exit big picture mode via Steam Link
4. Use host computer to Alt+Tab to BDO
5. Attempt from here to access BDO in any sort from Steam Link
6. No response

Attempted Fix #3:
1. Starting steam in administrative mode from the host computer.
2. Connect to Steam Link
3. Exit big picture mode
4. Launch BDO from basic windowed version of Steam
5. Use host computer to accept admin prompt
6. Attempt to access BDO once launched from Steam Link
7. No response

Variation #1 from fix #3:
6. Login to server and character from host computer
7. Attempt to access game from steam link once character is loaded in
8. No response

I will be adding more to this later on since I have done more, just need to take a break for a little while before doing that.

Any news?

I dont have any, and probably wont have any more since I stopped using my steam link and stopped playing bdo as well. I will leave this post up though in the event that someone else has information about the issue being fixed or if they have their own fix.
