How to drag items/skills in the hot bar?

I started this game a few days ago, and I like it so far, even if I am still learning it. But I have a question regarding the action bar / hot bar. How do we put items or skills in it? I tried to left click and drag the item, and then to left click again on the right slot, but nothing happen.
I made a research here and on google but I didn't find anything about it..

You dont drag skills to hotbar the bottom is purely for items in your inventory skills are activated through key combinations strictly

And as for items literally click and drag from your inventory

If the skill can be used with quickslots (and the skill will tell you that) you should be able to drag and drop, but I find the interface to be a bit finicky.

Same thing applies with items, but if you don't hit the quick slot right, it will ask if you want to delete the item instead.

But not all skills can be quick slotted.

This is not completely true as some skills are usable (or ONLY usable) using the hotbar. You can drag them into the hotbar.

Dragging from inventory and dropping into a slot on the hot bar does not work for me. The hot bar looks like it is frozen (it's all grayed out). I cannot remove the beginner potions either. Everything seems to be stuck with the beginning potions as the only slot that seems to be working.

Please offer suggestions.

I dragged the skill of the hotbar and now I literally cant do anything. Does anybody know how to get the skills bad?

I have the same problem... I can sometimes drag my skills to the quick slot bar, but sometimes I cant... Wondering if it`s an technical issue in the bottom of this really.

The skill has to specifically say it's "Quick slot available"

how far did you scroll to start this post back up.. its from 2018. and also the skills all have combo options and also there is a quickslot section in the skills menu (k) drag the ones you want.

Figured it out, unlike usual MMORPG`s the skills has to be quick slot available.. And such a cringe thing to do... Dragging passives to the quickslot bar..

So i've realized there are only certain skills that are able to be dropped on the bar. Try all the skills and see which ones it will allow you to put on the bar. For the other skills, they are continuation combo skills that are essentially addon abilities to combos.

To remove an item from your Hotbar, left click hold the item you what to remove and drag it off to the ground. It stays in your inventory if you have more than zero. It’s just no longer on your Hotbar.

As others have already posted, all skills will read if you can Hotbar (Quick Slot) it in the description of the skill.

For those who didn’t know this, if you go Succession, know you cannot choose that particular Prime Skill if you still have that particular Absolute Skill selected.

FYI about the Hotbar (Quick Slot) skills. Sometimes when you level up a skill the Hotbar skill is still the skill level you last put there, so always check to ensure it upgraded. If it didn’t remove the lower level skill and replace with the upgraded skill.

why would a game want me to do 4d typing in a fight when wasd is movement?
