Black Desert

It is better on steam or on the original launcher?
I seen many people complain about the lag on the steam servers, is it true?

Original if you plan to invest a ton of time into it.

I avoided buying the game until it came out on steam. Now i regret it. BDO has SOOOOO many afk heavy activities. Since you can only play one steam game at a time, You will lock yourself out of any other game. I will leave BDO on my laptop or desktop to afk horse ride, fish, or cook, and play on my xbox or ps4 while I wait for bosses to spawn.

What I would like to do is leave BDO up for those activities, and play another game on my other pc. This becomes more of a problem since most games now require an internet connection. This has really started to make me question some things with steam.

There are no "steam" servers, they´er ALL their servers.
Also you´ll get kicked of them after a month and join the rest on the "real" servers.

The two reasons to use steam is because of the seemingly more frequent sales here, but that´s irelevant once you bought both packs(only one each allowed).
And mainly because of the payment options.

Had I known that the origial page accepts paysafe too, I would´ve used that.

If you send BDO to the tray when you hit disconnect you can play other games on steam.
Or you simply can open another game. My husband plays PUBG and BDO at the same time all the time.

Also all the steam servers are the same as the launcher servers. You'll be with people that don't play the steam version no matter which you choose. It's more if you want to use your steam wallet or with paypall/CC/etc.

BS, you can play multiple Steam games at the same time.

Haven´t noted any down side about BDO on steam. The steam servers are a nice bonus. you may play on any server you want yet a non-steam player is unable to access the steam servers.

I made full use of them my first month, even hot grinding spots were empty there.

Another upside: if you get into BDO and it becomes your main game for the next while you can use the steam funds you obtained via selling cards to buy cash shop stuff.

"BS, you can play multiple Steam games at the same time."

Never bothered, is it really possible? :o

"Original if you plan to invest a ton of time into it."

Why?

EDIT: after some research, gifting might be impossible (like free gift codes)

Yes, it really is possible. My husband plays PUBG,CSS, CSGO, Total War, etc while still playing BDO.

It's quite nice.

What in the ♥♥♥♥ are you talking about this game doesnt have dedicated steam servers..... they use their own servers

you can play multiple games at the same time on steam, i do it all the time and i know people that run more than 4 games at the same time just to get some time achievements.
the only real difference between the steam version and launcher is that you cant get the polar bear or hedgedog(without paying 40 dollars) pets on steam, those 2 are basically the best pets in the game

I have 140+ hours in the game and have never lagged to the point where it's unplayable and neither have any of my friends who I play the game with. Though I do know one person who gets a ton of lag for some reason
