Long answer, it was intentionally done by the developers to combat against gold selling/bot gold farming. When BDO made its entrance into the West market, there have been bot/ gold farming advertisement everywhere. To ensure that BDO won't fall into the situation that other MMO have, they blocked the trading feature between players, so that all those gold farmers and bots won't be able to make money from their game. The down side of this is as you have seen, players can only trade consumable items, and the moment they received the consumables, those are locked into the characters, and are unable to be sold back to vendor for money, which used to be something people did to trade.
