Steam keeps redownloading game even though it's installed

Hi there,
Ok maybe this is a problem many others have encountered but it's baffling me. I downloaded BDO (took up to 3 hrs) - all 51GB of it. So then went to launch and Steam started downloading it all over again. At first I thought "ok this might be an update or something" but it took just as long as the first time and now when I try to play it starts redownloading for a THIRD time!

I know the game is installed as it's 51GB in size, however is there anything I'm missing here?

Thanks Demendra, however I decided after several attempts to request a refund on Steam and have downloaded it from the Black Desert website instead - no problems there.

You're welcome. I've had this occur numerous times with different games with Steam. Not entirely sure what causes the issue but at least you've got an alternate avenue for obtaining the game.

I can't remember having this kind of problem with any of my other Steam games (and I have a LOT lol), I just found this problem slightly bizarre. :)
