For example, fishing boat decoration is terrible, but I can make Silver Embroidered Cook's Clothes that sell for a minimum of 470k by using materials that sell for a maximum of 205k.
There's also good money to be made simply by processing your life away while afk if you know where to look; and it's the same there, that some items are worth processing while others aren't.
And yes, Fishing Boat Decorations are a pet peeve of mine. The sell price makes no sense.
A regular Fishing Boat or several of the wagons, though, you would be able to make money crafting them.
I used to make tons of money out of a crafted item, keeping the supply somewhat low.
Someone probably noticed it too, but this stupid guy flooded the market with hundreds.
Result, item is down to less than half its starting price and is no more worth crafting...as now it is a net loss to even think about crafting it.
So, perhaps your ship item was worth it to craft once upon a time, but overflooded market destroyed its selling price.
