Best pet for a new player

I like my cats (have 2, 1 with package, other from marketplace, lucky me...)

As i gather a lot (mining etc), their ability to spot stuff to gather is a great help to me.

well for pets you are actually paying for the auto looting skill something that every pet has rather than the boost they give so any pet would do, just choose what you like more or is cheaper

Eagle ( extra wisdom) cats as first pet are not really good due they show u stuff what is gatherable ( u also see without cat )

I'd say get a bird pet, since they give higher knowledge chances and stuff. It can also detect elite mobs which can be good if you are hunting them, but for new players they are hard to kill.
Dog's detect enemy players who have hidden names, while Cat's give a bit more lifeskill exp, so pick which ever benefits you most.

That is what i tryed to say lol, damn nigjtshifts^^
